  1. A large hornline can have more volume and it can be easier for people to be a little less mindful on where one breaths, but that is not always the case. To me tunning is the key. A smaller hornline will sound louder if in tune than a larger out of tune hornline. Scientifically, it makes since. It is really kind of cool. So, all the small horn lines that have been around and that others have stated already were louder because they can play together as a in tune hornline. But playing in a 74 member in tune hornline is really cool!!! Ryan
  2. I just listen to Kimela :) But really, I just have to play it again, again, again.... Once I get my mind and figures insync then it is all good. Ryan
  3. In my book it does. I didn't march that year, but man I love listening to that SCV opening. I have played some and heard some great stuff, but that opening is my reference point. Ryan
  4. G Kings are really nice. Love range. I have never found a Bugle that could really match 100% the sound of a King. G Kanstels are good. I would say that it is a bettter middle to upper bari parts. Dynastys are a good all-around horn. Now, I am talking about G horns. Since I play a concert euphonium most of the time. My two cents. 5. Well, I have to say that to me mouthpieces are a matter of personal preference. You have to find the right one for you. It depends on what is comfortable to you and what you can produce the best tone. As for corps that requires a particular mouthpiece, I think that it is a good starting point. You would think that same instrument + same mouthpiece = same tone. However, that is not always the case and that should be addressed case by case. I myself always like to try new things and see if they will work for me. What is important is that if it does not work for that person then do they get the option to go to something that does work for them? I would hope so. JRM
  6. I just have to agree with all the post so far. Loud Music was great!!! Every year it is getting better and better. What I liked the most about it is what I think that drum corps is really all about -- meeting old and new friends and playing some good music together. I talked with people that I have not seen in 10-12 years. It was just great. That alone is worth doing senior corps. Though, play loud <& in tune;)> is a close second. It was a real treat to meet with all the members of the RCR. Great performance and great people. I am looking forward to seeing them later this season. Ryan McNulty Renegades
