  1. It was the Kingsmen in 1974, not Santa Clara. Our bell player had two chimes attached, which were used during "March to the Scaffold" (Symphonie Fantastique). As I recall, the tympani was still heavier. Spectramur Adgendo.
  2. Ahhhhh, point taken. I should learn to curb the use of the phrase "we all" in this forum. Spectramur Adgendo
  3. Weren’t we all in Colorado preparing for DCI prelims? No disrespect to Elvis, but a bigger question to me would be where were you the night you heard John Lennon was murdered? I was in the dorms at the University of Southern California watching Monday Night Football and we sat stunned. Spectramur Adgendo
  4. Ours were all X-rated so I can't share in this family friendly forum. However, there is one I can share. Whenever we (Anaheim Kingsmen) were in a show with the Velvet Knights we would sing to them: (sung to the tune of "Somewhere" from West Side Story) "There's aaaaa place for ussssss, a SECOND place for usssssss (meaning the VK, of course) ^0^
  5. For Drums, it would have to be Tom Float (Anaheim Kingsmen, etc.) Guard, it would be Brenda Markham (Anaheim Kingsmen)
  6. In my opinion, the biggest messup in DCI history was the Bridgemen disqualification from DCI finals in 1977 (or 78?). It was a travesty.
  7. First time poster here on DCP and former Kingsmen. Great picture of our 74 Rifle line above and thanks to whomever posted it. They don't make guards like that anymore. It's all costumes and dancing now - yuck. As far as people breaking our ranks goes, we were quite serious about it. Nobody did - nobody. I remember at CYO (or Allentown?) the Drum Major of the Muchachos tried it (thought he would have known better) and he didn't fair very well for his efforts. Nice to see a lot of 2-7 folks here. I loved your Corps and can't hear Crown Imperial without thinking of you folks.
