Yes it is true there are serious talks about starting a drum corps on long island. This will hopefully tap the untaped talent that the area has to offer. The LIMMA ( Long Island Marching Arts Association) board plan to put out a acompetitive indoor drumline (RAGE) in the comeing years they plan to have a indoor winter guard and a proforming brass line. This will all be over seen by the LIMAA board there hopes is to combine all of these sections to make a compative corps.

It is with great excitement that I announce the formation of the Long Island Marching Arts Association. This is an organization created to promote, sponsor and develop Junior Drum Corps and related marching performance arts on Long Island. The association has brought together people from all areas of Long Island with all types of marching experiences and we have begun an aggressive campaign to launch a Winter ensemble program for the 2005-2006 season.
As a board, it is our intent to reach out to all students interested and offer a state of the art marching program by providing winter programs for Percussion, Brass and Guard. In addition it is our intent to have a national level Junior Drum Corps in place once we have created a solid infrastructure. We recognize that a strong organization with financial support is the key to moving forward and I am confident in the group we have assembled and look forward to a productive marching program.
