  1. This is possibly the best news I've heard in a LONG TIME!!!!!!!! Yay for VK!!!!!!!!!!
  2. so, you're saying that blue devils aren't good enough to perform difficult drill? this is not true...i'm sure. they are great marchers! the best! this is why i wish they would do better, more difficult, more entertaining drill
  3. My guess: 1. Academy...will be much higher than everyone else. If div 1...could make semis...just a guess 2. Spartans 3. OC...saw them in Seattle...without Academy...Spartans and OC would be battling for the top div 2 spot. Trust me...they are that good. COULD win percussion...but haven't yet seen Academy 4. ECJ 5. BDB
  4. based off of what i have seen, and after watching clips on vic firth...i don't see how blue devils drumline is even in the running. their book is so much easier...and sooooo not musical...as always. i think phantom and cadets are great. hopefully cavies can clean too...casellas' stuff is simply wonderful! i loved SCV too...when i saw them in seattle, they blew me away!
  5. I believe that it is the visual side that is going to hold them back. Their drill isn't as interesting, or as clean. Their guard is definatly not up with the top 4 corps. Other than that...they are right there!
  6. they did win visual performance...excellence. which means they marched better. which could be true...i couldn't tell. however, spirit won GE visual...because their visual design is better. I'm not bashing on the colts, trust me. I enjoy the colts! always have. just sayin'...spirit impressed me very much!
  7. Colts better than Spirits visual design? I DEFINATLY don't think so! I very much enjoyed Spirits' drill. After the Colts were done, I remember thinking...gosh...this could make finals!!! Then, Spirit did their opening segment, and I turned to my wife and said "well, if this is 12th place...colts are out of luck...there's no way they are beating THAT!"
  8. Obviously, I was not AT the show, however, I watched the entire show via the seasons pass. The streaming was QUITE good this time! Thank you DCI!!! A couple of random thoughts from what I saw! 1. Spirit was very good...I thought. I actually think they should have a higher score than they got! 2. Glassmen, I honestly thought were pretty darn dirty, and weren't really THAT far ahead of Spirit. 3. Madison wasnt as bad as I thought they'd be. Myron's drill is a bit "used" but I still liked the fact that Madison was marching FAST!!! I thought last year's unis were great...why change? 4. Crown was wonderful! Thank you! You are one of my favorites so far! 5. Phantom may have deserved to beat Bluecoats...but in GE Visual? Nah! 6. Bluecoats beat Phantom in BRASS??? Nah! 7. Blue Devils show just doesn't do it for me. BLAH!!! I know their show is A LITTLE different than in some past shows...but NOT in one category...DRILL!!! I can NOT enjoy a BD show until they start MARCHING!!! Their drill is so freakin' easy, it's unbelievable! If you aren't marching like the Cadets and/or Cavies, you don't deserve to be in their league! They do NOT sound as good as they should when they march half time a lot, and don't march over 8 to 5 step size very often. I thought Phantom's hornline sounded better! Also, Phantom should have won drums! Easily! 8. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if the Blue Devils win this year! The shows that have been winning lately have been very well designed...(Cavies and Cadets since 2000) and this show is NOT! I would have to go through the whole show to explain all of their "non-championship" moments, but I just don't have the time...or patience. Hopefully Cavies or Cadets can catch them! Otherwise, it will seems to me that DCI is giving BD another Championship. disclaimer: I am niether a BD "hater" or "lover"...I have liked MANY BD shows. Just as I am not a Cavies "lover" at all. I have really only liked a few Cavies shows....ever. I simply don't think this show deserves a Championship.
  9. now it's working! solid quality, if it stays like this!
  10. does anyone else just have audio, and no video?
  11. does anyone just have a picture...with sound? i have no video :(
  12. i didn't know lee beddis was writting for them...i knew their book sounded familiar! i'm a fan of lee beddis' books!
  13. wow...the disney stuff is not working well for them! too hard! :(
  14. magic sounds pretty good! drums are a little loud...but a good horn sound, and drums sound pretty clean! good for them! sounds better than 20th or 19th...wherever they are in placement
  15. my mac is working great! make sure you have windows media...
  16. now it's gone all together! like you conner...there is no option here anymore weird...it was just there! :(
  17. \ i do...and it was working GREAT for a second!!! now, it's dead :(
  18. it was working GREAT here for the first minute...no choppiness...then choppiness..then dead! hopefully they'll fix it! the "un-choppy" version was GREAT!
  19. I'm confused as to why a lot of people are saying 2000 and 2003?!?! I can understand Cavies and Cadets being GREAT in 2000...but no one else, really. And, in 2003...let's see the judges got it wrong...should've been Cavies!!! I think 1999 was pretty darn good! SCV and BD that year were both VERY strong! 1993 was the same story with Star and Cadets. I honestly don't think any year is better than another. However, I think there have been some "off" years. lol
  20. I too am extremely sadened by what's happening with the Cascades. It actually broke my heart to watch them on Saturday. I truely believe that they CAN fix this after the season is done...but will they? I hope! I believe this "problem" had actually started my age-out year (2003). So many great players/marchers that year (far better than 2002) and we couldn't get higher than 15th. Why? I don't really want to get into that right now. BUT, the Cascades do have alot of issues, and they are going to take a long time to fix. I'm not going to get into the things that I think they can do to fix that...it's not my place. But, knowing their management...they know. I definately do give credit to the staff members that are on the road right now. Keep up the hard work, don't give up! You are all strong individuals, and can tough it out, knowing what can be. This is a great organization, and has been for a long time. I believe, and so should you all. To the members...I know it can be tough...even my age-out year, at times I was ready to bail out at any time...but I stuck through it. You can do it! There are reasons you joined drum corps...and the biggest one is to perform, and entertain! And, your season is still young, and you'll have plenty more performances! Have fun! Work hard! And, you'll feel great about it all once it's done! Just know, all of you on the road right now with the Cascades...member, volunteers, staff...we are back home rooting for you all the way! You are all in our thoughts, and in our prayers! Nate Cascades '98,'99,'02,'03
