  1. My son is in the Scouts, and he says she is basically like one of the guys, they kind of don't pay any more attention to her than any other member..he says she is nice, but it's really not a big deal, to them, anyway. She is just like any of the male color guard members to them, and they dont' seem to fraternize much, so I think her boyfriend can rest easy, and I agree that I would be proud if she were my daughter..I really do think she does a nice job, and I really really love the show, but I know that I am biased, so I will understand if you disagree, but I have two daughters, one in guard, and I would be fine if either of them were to play Carmen in this show, and I definitely think she is probably safer with the Scouts than she would be at home..she has 134 big brothers looking out for her, and I really doubt anyone is going to break through that line to mess with her!! hahahaha...
  2. I just wanted to say, The entrance of Carmen is a well-guarded trade secret, and I think it's the coolest thing that they manage to sneak her out there the way they do...I saw the show in Normal, so I know it' s progressed even more, but I was blown away by the show and I love everything about it, I would love to see them win the championship...I think the audience would go wild!!! Thanks for your comments!! I agree..It's working!!
  3. Yes, George, I know, and sorry to get off track, but I did ask at the beginning of the post if anyone in attendance would review the show...I just had a two-part question... thanks, Cardman, for your input..I am still hoping someone who was there will review it..there were, according to the ticket sales, 8,000 people there... Thanks@!
  4. I attended the DCI central Ill. show in Normal, IL tonight, and wondered if there was anyone experienced who would care to review? I am just a parent, never marched, so I won't even attempt.... the only thing I would like to throw out there would apply to the fact that I am wondering if the Cavies are winning, in some degree, based mostly on their reputation or if their show is really as good as their scores. Can anyone tell me how much politics is involved in the judging of these shows? I have read some reviews on DCP which seem to indicate that a lot of people are disappointed with this year's Cavalier show, and I did notice that the crowd was totally in favor of the Madison Scouts performance. I was wondering if anyone would care to comment on the discrepancy in the scores, since it did appear that the Scouts had given a performance superior to that of the Cavies, and performed far and away a much more entertaining show, and yet the Scouts came in second, and the Cavaliers were, as usual, in first place. Thanks in advance for any opinions/comments/input!!
