  1. 1992 Cavaliers - The big horn arc at the end of Peterloo followed by the huge flags. Very dark sounds. 1995 Blue Devils - The one guard member in front of the horn line with all of the other guard shaking their skulls at her. Very haunting. 1992 Star of Indiana - The silk screens during Amber Waves were a great match with the music and then the huge screen at the end.
  2. I was just reading about Brubeck's new piece and also thought someone should do it too!.
  3. Definitely worth the money. Every year's show is innovative, fun to watch and amazing to listen to. Even if you dont like some of the visuals, just listening to the brass is worth the money.
  4. Here are some things I would love to see in 2006. Of course some of these may be wishful thinking, but some could definitely come true. These are in no particular order. 1. Troopers have a great season and move way up. 2. Crossmen back in the top 12. 3. Phantom Regiment wins their second DCI championship (and NOT in a tie). 4. Bluecoats in the top 3. 5. Madison Scouts perform a Drum Corps Fan's Dream, Part 3. 6. An all-female corps is formed and places in the the top 12. 7. No one speaks or sings into a microphone during their performance. 8. Everyone forgets woodwinds were even an option. 9. All corps decide to give West Side Story a year off. 10. On finals night there is the closest score spread in DCI history and everyone talks about how all great every corps was for years to come. 11. Velvet Knights do a reunion performance and sponsors are inspired to give lots of money, thus putting VK back into Division 1 competition in 2007.
  5. I did not go on a drum corps tour, but I have gone to Europe a few times with different musical organizations. When I went, we would have these square pieces of material and use long, skinny tools to put messages on them. Then we would put it inside a thin case and put a sticky little square in the upper right hand corner. They would magically be taken to our parents. I am not sure how, I think owls might have delivered them. (All kidding aside, I think cell phones are ok as long as kids don't abuse them. Where I see the most abuse coming in is kids talking to their boyfriend/girlfriend back home and not making friends in the corps.)
  6. Thanks for the nice words about the Port Huron Blue Water Brass show. I have been going since 1980, when I was 6 years old, and have hardly missed a show since.
