  1. I was 2 when it was performed but I'm really amazed how Star 91 didn't lose volume towards the end, really kept it pushing during the cross to cross.
  2. Bill Cook + Drum Corps = Star of Indiana = Instant finals participation, Winning 4 high brasses in a row, took only 6 years to win the trophy... Whew if Trooper can do that. I'd go bonkers.
  3. I had no idea that a bit of volume and a key switch of a hornline was such a big deal.
  4. Name shows that you consider "colorful", where color was used in an effective or simply aesthetic way. 1998 The Cadets - "Stonehenge" Flags around the corners! CRAZY! 2002 Phantom Regiment - "Heroic Sketches" THE BALLADS IN THE FLAGS WERE WOOO!! 2004 Phantom Regiment - "Apasionada 874" Possibly the most pretty show I've seen. The red and blue flags were amazing
  5. 2003 The Cadets' remix to Malaguena was awesome especially with the amazing percussion section.
  6. HMMM What should I choose? 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard 1990 Star of Indiana 1991 Star of Indiana 2000 The Cadets
  7. I've always had a similar undescribable aroma coming from Star and The Cadets. Possibly why they are my two favorite corps.
  8. Actually let me add 1993 Medea. I care much for the visuals, thought they were good at times, but it was alright. Loved the music, dynamics and everything.
  9. You have nooooo idea how much I listen to 1997 BD!!! It engages me muchly Keep doin that and you're face will end up like the guy that Dick Cheney shot.
  10. It'd give more flexibility to those who constantly rant about woodwinds, amplification/narration etc... "TommySopranoContra's talking about how much he loves the Cadets again..." Oooooooh my goooooooood no waaaaaaaaaaay
  11. It's an excellent way of getting around that stupid language control thing. Personally, cursing is part of culture! Long live me!
  12. I meant those tied shows for The Cadets, Phantom Regiment, and Santa Clara Vanguard are arguably one of their most acclaimed repretoires. You really have to admit there would be a lot of people mad if that tie breaker rule existed for 1996, 1999, and 2000. Imagine, same score... but second place. 2000 The Cadets would have lost their undefeated season finals night because of a sudden drop in GE scores. Under the tie breaker, the Cadets' almost undefeated GE until their loss at finals night would have led The Cavaliers to their 3rd championship medal. No seriously imagine the upheaval if The Cadets lost finals night but had the same score. With that kinda crowd at the end of their show, Byrd stadium would have fallen apart in rage. Personally I hate tie breakers. At least ties give me more championships shows to appreciate. Plus it gives more people medals. :P
  13. People get so mad right now about Corps X should have won. Imagine having the score the same but one winner. There will be rage! If the tie breaker actually happened for the 3 other tied championships 2000 The Cavaliers would have won 1999 Blue Devils would have won 1996 Blue Devils would have won Each of the losing corps during these ties had their (what is considered to be) their corps favorite show. Whew the mad faces! ^0^
  14. It's so odd hearing an orchestra play Medea. I love the all brass style of it. I agree with whoever stated the SCV 89 thing. I enjoy SCV's phantom of the opera much more than the musical.
  15. What's your favorite range extension excercise? My favorite is the Blue Devils Range Extension in the Dynasty of Brass
  16. Shhhhhh I never knew so young a body with so old a head (reading shakespeare) :P this is the first cadet/future thread i made im going into new grounds. sit back and observe the silly insults, the real world MTV drama, and offended people.
