  1. FYI for you Crunchy Frog fans: "Crunchy Frog" nor Lee Rudnicki is officially connected with, funded, supported, or endorsed by the Renegades Association of California, or any of its performing groups, including the Renegades Drum & Bugle Corps and the Jim Ott Brass Ensemble. That is all!
  2. Back by popular demand ... Donate $100 to become a Charter Member of the Renegades "Club 7", and you get this cool shirt, and your name on the Renegades web page forever, as a charter member! Click here to donate! (offer valid until March 15th, 2012)
  3. Check out the video with some clips from the Renegades first camp at: http://www.indiegogo.com/Renegades-2012 ... and while you are there, feel free to make a quick donation! I don't know what was more exciting at this camp: 16 snares (and also rest of drum line being full), full pit, almost full guard, and KILLER music by Blue Devils Brass Arranger John Meehan. It. Was. FUN!
  4. The Jim Ott Brass Ensemble now is up and running on this Facebook page (as well as a 20+ person horn line!) If you are in NorCal, come out to Stockton tonight and join us!
  5. Just think ... there are over 26,000 subscribers to the DCP forums. If just 1% of the DCP subscribers (that would be 260 for those of you who don't like math!) donated just $25, our campaign would reach it's goal! FOR ONCE ... BE PART OF THE 1% !!!
  6. The San Francisco Renegades are teaming up with the Indiegogo fundraising platform to kick off a unique drum corps fundraising campaign. The goal of the world-famous nonprofit organization is to raise at least $10,000 by the start of the 2012 season, so the corps can launch into a new and exciting season of drum corps. Labor Day weekend 2012 will mark the Renegades' eleventh consecutive trip to the 2012 DCA World Championships, held in Annapolis, Maryland. The two-time world champion Renegades Mini-Corps will also make its long-awaited return to the DCA Individual and Ensemble competition. How can you help the Renegades? Please check out the Indiegogo page, contribute if you can, and above all -- please take 30 seconds and help us spread the word about this campiagn on your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other social media platform. The more we can raise awareness of this campaign in the community, the easier it will be to achieve a successful drum corps season. Thank you x 777 in advance for your help. 7. # # # FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RENEGADES ELECT NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS SAN FRANCISCO, California (October 14, 2011) - The Renegades Association of California, the corporate entity behind the Renegades Drum & Bugle Corps, has elected a new Board of Directors. The new Board, elected under the newly adopted bylaws, brings the best and brightest of the Renegades as it's new Management Team. The bylaws also mandate a three year rotating term for Board members, with two-thirds of the Board being retained each year, ensuring long term management continuity. The new Board members are: Jeff DeMello as President, Greg Gilman as Vice-President, Todd Hobert returns as Treasurer, Jennifer Russell returns as Secretary and Lisa Barany as Director at Large and Assistant Treasurer. Rounding out the Board is Renegades CEO Jeff Pearson. "The new Board is probably the most organized and focused team that the Renegades have ever assembled.” states incoming President, Jeff DeMello, who goes on to say: “I'm always energized when I get a chance to work with people of this caliber”. Echoing Mr. DeMello's sentiments is Chief Executive Officer Jeff Pearson: “With the new bylaws and our new Board, we're poised to make the Renegades one of the strongest drum corps organization ever. So far in our early 2012 meetings, we're setting the bar high for excellence and are quickly raising it”. There is a lot of talent on the new Board. Jeff DeMello has been on the Blue Devils Board for 13 years, serving as President, Secretary, and runs his own Video Production company. Greg Gilman is probably one of the top three names associated with the Renegades, as it's previous Director, Board Member, and works for Apple on the iTunes video team. Todd Hobert is a CPA and works at Intuit. Jenn Russell is a Secretary at State Farm Fire Claims division. Lisa Barany is a CPA and works for LMGW Certified Public Accountants, LLP. Jeff Pearson, returning CEO, is the previous Director of the Santa Clara Vanguard. Together, this management team is looking forward to one of the smoothest running years in the organization's history. In addition to the new Board of Directors, the Renegades rounds out it's team with a new Advisory Board, who are not voting Board members, but will be providing inputs and assistance with their vast and varying array of talents. On the Advisory Board are Renegade founder and it's first Director, Brandon Wilson; past Board member and Blue Devils Board member Doug Peterson; past Board President and current Corps Director Lolita Tabujara; and past Board member and Percussion Caption Head Lee Rudnicki. This restructure comes after a very successful Drum Corps season, culminating in a 6th place finish at the 2011 Drum Corps Associates (DCA) World Championship, held this last Labor Day weekend in Rochester, NY. The Renegades are planning on attending the 2012 DCA Championships in Annapolis, MD, where they will again compete with not only the Drum & Bugle Corps, but return to compete in the Mini-Corps competition, where they are two-time national champions. The Renegades are also members of Drum Corps International's DCI Pacific Division. The Renegades Association of California is a tax-exempt Non-Profit Corporation in accordance with the Section 501©(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Since their inception in 1997 they have sponsored many musical groups, including the Renegades Drum & Bugle Corps, and the Renegades Mini-Corps. To find out more, please visit www.renegades.org.
