Listening to the negative extremes even today would prevent many from coming out of their basements, when clearly things are improving now daily.
For some, inaccurate concerns, whether negative or positive, helps their perceived narrative.

For those hoping that DCI would move away from FloSports, I’ve got some bad news for you. DCI and Flo have extended their agreement through 2026. Boom.
Any idea 44 who else may have submitted a bid or is this just wishful thinking?

if people would do the right thing, we'd be better off and far less divided.

I've gotten the flu shot every year at school for at least the past 15 years. I did catch the flu 3 years ago & was told by my Doc that they guessed the wrong strain that season. I guess it's an educated guess as to what strains are included in the vaccine. But it was miserable. I'm asking the nurses for a double or triple this fall when they come for our annual health screening. 🤧
It seems the US tracks what's happening during the Winter season in Australia/New Zealand (which is going on now) and base their production on that. It does take awhile to produce the vaccine. That bad flu season a couple of years back had a strain different from what they saw from the other countries.

At the end of the '84 broadcast there is call out indicating that the presentation of the program was made possible by a grant from the Cook Group Company.
I was not aware that the Cook Group starting supporting DCI a year before Star took the field for the first time.
Bill Cook and his Cook Group did dozens of good deeds that many were never aware of.

Such a fun show!
I'm confused. Does she mean (yes, I watched this one) the Crown show or the one with the guy in the bed?

She’s looking at ways to refund consumers at least partially while not bankrupting sports leagues.
Have a non binding question put on the Nov. ballot if those who pay state taxes want their money used to bail out club sports teams, etc.

Not so sure 2021 DCI will cancel if WGI is cancelled. WGI would be underway next month with auditions, then go right into rehearsals, then to performances.
Maybe those with contacts will learn if any of the designers have a show down on paper already .

I like the idea of determining the “most local” world class corps. I think it would be a toss-up between Colts, Genesis or Jersey Surf.
Anyone think Music City might qualify?

1. Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet a number of people involved in starting drum corps in the 50’s and 60’s. Some have been through religious organizations of which I can probably speak of with some certainty but also people who wanted to start a drum corps. In the case of the drum corps started in Catholic parishes, almost all of those who started drum corps or in the case of Boston, bands and drill teams, also started baseball, softball, and basketball teams.
2. CYO dances were always well attended.
1. In many situations, the teenager was black mailed. Either you join our parish D&BC, or we will not keep you out of youth services if you cause anymore trouble.
2. Hope you didn't ask the children dancing slow if there was room for the Holy Ghost. That job was usually done be the nuns.

Crossmen 02. The entrance from the corner of the stadium alone was cool to watch.
Boston in 2012 used all four corners for a well received pre show.

Probably, but it would be interesting to hear if there were other reasons!
Since I’m not in a position to “cast the first stone “, looking for a possible issue doesn’t interest me.

But you can look back at August scores and see how wide a variety of possible outcomes we had BITD.

Sleeper coaches
Mentioned that in another thread awhile back. Boston used one for a few seasons for staff and kitchen volunteers. But, unless you think outside the box for rehearsal locations (back to parking lots again?) or KOA's (also mentioned) for showers and such, the logistics might deter this possibility.

Col Truman Crawford was adamant about keeping the 2v horns; when budget crunches came to the musical units of the Marine Corps, they could point to the fact that they were the only unit in the military with this unique instrumentation, go cut the budget somewhere else.

Any idea if corps still do this today?
Quite a few corps have alternates. One or two guard and a couple of brass I believe. Last year, it took a quick quad pick up for Boston about a month to be able to march.

And with all the DCP posts about his situation that he has read, the light bulb still hasn't turned on.
Does no WGI = no DCI for 2021 (Hypothetical)?
