If you're referring to Jose Feliciano with your question....then the answer is no.
Ouch!

And as for The Cadets, frankly I think they felt a little overlooked and disrespected (especially at finals) and they're gonna want to show everyone who the real champions are, I think they might even want to break the score record.
I'm thinking 99.650 may hold up for many years.

I'm really surprised by the amount of girls that don't think they are allowed to conduct/play brass.
They may not follow D&BC that closely.
-
Everybody's equal, just some more than others maybe.
The Crusaders "Animal Farm" is still leaving it's mark!

How about Pembroke Imperials. They did well for a short time. I think they played a lot of big band stuff. That was during the period in MA that had Boston, 27, Pembroke and maybe Northstar (or Beverly Cardinals)

Not sure why all that would matter.
It probably shouldn't, but the correlation of what JB said might have merit.

or choose to leave.
In many work areas, choosing to leave is a result of not wanting to be fired, and then giving various reasons why. I'm guessing many BOD's ask the person to leave since the BOD does not want to hurt the person's chance of being picked up by another corps.

A little mace in some of the near collisions would make quite a show!
And if the wind is blowing the wrong way, a bunch of mm! Talk about trying to march today's drill with your eyes on fire.
-
Just adding good people.
One would have to agree that most of the instructional staff with most corps are "good people". But, there seems to be many good people who are canned, some after only one year.
-
With a multi pictures per second camera, you can get that shot. (In 65, our M&M instructor, Hank O'Donnell worked with me for months to learn the required routine to enter the VFW DM contest. We arrived late in Chicago, so our borrowed mace stayed in the bus.)

All depends on personal commitment. When it works it can be Magic!
And leave your egos at the door. ATD should become their mantra.
-
Someone asked me, with all the connections to the Cavies some of the new staff have had, will Boston wear some green on their uniforms? Before Craiga has a bird and I'm not knowledgeable about "instructors", it does seem like the corps has signed up some quality people.

As a reigning National Champion, SAC didn't like getting beat. Early in July of that year we beat another reigning NC, Chicago Cavaliers, out in Wisconsin. It's too bad we faded somewhat at the big "contests" in August.
-
Let's hope this time SAC and BAC behave themselves afterwards!

(Just now noticed Eleran's post in the "merry-go-round" thread. Please remove if a mod wishes too.)

Loved those 2000-2008 drill programs - they were one of the few corps I would watch on high cam first, every single time.
Mike
Cavies also had some great drill back to the early 90's.
-
I would have thought One of those great Cavies shows would have nabbed the highest score ever.
They may not have been "artsy" enough for the judges.
-
I feel D&BC has slowly been dying for some time.

Time to leave DCP forever! it was fun but hasn't been fun anymore. My post aren't what people want and frankly . You choose to see pictures of a band/drum corps that NEVER competed in dci. I will take my memories and be out of here.
Not again Keith!

1962 ... VFW Nats ... Minneapolis, MN ... St. Raphael's Bucs scores an impressive 82.35 in prelims and is hanging on all day long for a Finals slot ... Kilties and Cambridge are tied on the tote board with an 84.00 all day long ... last corps appears ... St. Raphael's is in as the "13th" corps due to the tie ... but wait ... Tony S is not pleased ... does not want a 13 corps Finals ... tie is broken after "review" of the sheets ... Kilties score now 84.05 ... St. Raphael's now "out" ... as Kenny Norman says, Tony S could always find ya a couple of tenths ... in this case - a 1/2 theth ...
:-)
It always seemed that the Mid Western corps got the extra tenths needed to place higher. We felt that way at the 65 VFW in Chicago. Tony S. of the 60's would have made a great Tony Soprano of today.
