The thing I can't get over as I sit here staring at the recaps is that really only two races were even close (i.e. within a half a point). There was a huge spread tonight. 1st to 2nd: 1.05 2nd to 3rd: 1.10 3rd to 4th: 1.50 4th to 5th: 0.60 5th to 6th: 1.90 6th to 7th: 3.45 7th to 8th: 0.25 8th to 9th: 0.85 9th to 10th: 1.30 10th to 11th: 2.30 11th to 12th: 0.40 That's a total spread of 14.7 points across 12 corps!

Also, been meaning to ask this and keep forgetting. Has anybody else noticed on that little promo for the Founders Trophy: As they're going through the corps that have won, when they get to Phantom Regiment they initially show a BD plaque and then quickly pull it away revealing the 2008 Phantom plaque. Kind of a dickish move by DCI but I still find it funny!

Michael Boo: This show is Ethel Murman in a tutu, Francis Ford Coppola in a thong, the ghost of President Lincoln bouncing on a trampoline while the pizza delivery man from Dominos brings in ten gallons of cole slaw for the body painting of Bob Barker. It's all that and none of it. This is dada, and it's not. Whatever it is to you is whatever it is to you, unless it isn't. It's Roslyn Carter on a Schwinn riding backwards into a pool of lime green Jell-o while a recording of Pavarotti plays his rendition of "You're Having My Baby." Oh Boo....your mind works perfectly to be a BD show designer!

Yup, they allow any and all Open class corps to perform on Thursday, but all on the World class sheets. That's why Oregon Crusaders, BDB, SCVC and Spartans performed in Semi's as well. Last year I was in my seat at 9:00 AM on Thursday morning and watched every Open and World class corps. Nothing like a 13 hour show!
