  1. The fascinating part of this type of analysis is to see how sometimes the end results appear to have been preprogrammed. Especially considering all the variables that go into how a score is arrived at. I think it may have been 02 or 03 I was following Steve Musumeches(sp?) number crunching. The top 3 or four corps were on a perfect straight line improvement every night. I recall Phantoms graph looking like the bars on the cell phone commercial, they never faltered. The lower your corps in placement, the more likely they were to have an erratic graph. Spirit and Madisons graph looked liked a roller coaster. So the question becomes is the precise regular improvement of the top corps a function of consistency, talent, rehearsal efficiency, teaching methods? Does any of it come from the judging side. Its an interesting diversion.
  2. You are partly correct. Kilties whose exhibition performance led to a competitive all age corps is of course is still competing. For the first couple of years it did remain alumni and all male, but it eventually led to open membership for both non alumni and women. Bridgemen are in their second year, Royal Airs existed for 3 and a half seasons. Some of the corps are notable in that they marched/are marching only alumni for their intial year. Kilties, SCV(I think), and Madison. Unless I am wrong, 27th, Bridgemen, Royal Airs all were open from the start. I dont know about Kingsmen.
  3. Well if its any consolation, BLAST! included Bolero in its stage show so that is probably a sign it was somewhat memorable. I dont know that any other junior corps has done it.
  4. You mean the lukewarm response where he said the Cavies had the finest hornline to ever hit a field? That they are setting new standards in visual? Drumline running and playing perfectly? Oh yeah he didnt like the guard and how the show ended. There seems to be a difference of opinion in what the word lukewarm means.
  5. Agree. I first thought they would harken back to the early 80s Eisenhower jackets which were not a favorite of mine. But I agree with previous posters that these are actually a step back to a tradtional look over the last uniform. And colorguard really isnt anymore out there than Cavies guard.
