  1. ok i reluctantly accept the innocence of your remark....
  2. lol. this a classic. telling people to chill and then inciting pandemonium with the four letter word. THIS is why DCP is still worth reading.
  3. I like HNC '09 a lot . There's a whole lot to like about it !! I have my expectations about how my observations about design might come in to play as the season wears on but that's as far as I'll go with that.
  4. Not at all -- guess i'm just missing all these posts where crown supporters are smearing cadets fans who criticize their *design*....could you point a few of them out to me? <crickets> There *have* been some on-target posts criticizing performance issues -- no question. And this post pretty much adds on to the "if you can't attack the facts, smear the messenger". All this vitriol is bubbling up from HNC because they are *so* relieved they don't have listen to constant drone of Cadets bashing about voice and amps and everything else they've done lately. I get it. And there *have* been Crown honks crawling out of the woodwork being -- well -- honks. (I feel obligated to let go with a honk now and then since my kid is marching CC this year.) But NONE of that is what we're discussing here.
  5. LOL ooookkkk....you keep drinking your maroon cool aid. I've seen very few posts about Crown's design. There *have* been posts like "why do they dance instead of marching like men" and "Crown's show is so much easier" and "let's just steal material from other corps". I guess if you count those posts you're absolutely right.
  6. These comments were not directed at him. What these replies amount to is to smear someone if you can't address the issue. Lot's of really good comments on this board about why HNC doesn't work for them. Not ONE reply back to the content.
  7. Don't see anyone here telling the Cadets staff what they need to do. I do see people on here explaining *why* a show doesn't seem to work for them instead of just saying "it doesn't work" or "it's not as good". I am surprised to see you jumping on this particular band wagon. "Let's tear down anyone who disagrees with us and try to belittle and embarrass them into shutting up so we can just hear our opinion expressed here." It's pathetic.
  8. Thanks for posting the pic !! Glad to see lots of RED in the uniform. It's just the contrast the show needs.
  9. I can't WAIT to see this live. Even on video there is just something about this show....
  10. Call out the wahhhhmbulance!! Wow don't make a negative comment about HNC's appointment with destiny this year or you're labeled a cheerleader. FWIW your comment about Finis has some merit and it was a weakness of the show. I'd suggest you go back and watch it again (instead of just reading off the repetoire). There was a much larger degree of expression and variety of emotional content in CC '08 than HNC '09. I am in love with Cadets when they do high-powered shows; IMO Stonehenge set new standards musically and visually in the activity. AND it had a wide range of emotional contrast portrayed musically and visually, a range sadly absent from their show this year. Sorry. It's a technical tour-de-force but it's not well constructed.
  11. IMHO the HNC visually this year are like a rollercoaster which consists of one continuous drop at 120 mph. It's thrilling at first but after 3 or 4 mins of dropping down that hill, the effect starts to wear off. Musically its much the same: smack, smack, smack. Its fun at first (who doesnt like to be smacked by a wall of brass?) but eventually it becomes....well...just more of the same. Variety of effect is very important to ANY production in ANY venue. A rollercoaster with that long lift hill and loops and turns and inversion is WAY more entertaining than a one trick coaster. Pacing and variety of effect lead to successful productions.
  12. *bumped for teal practice site -- just need crossmen*
  13. yeah so many corps have done urban dances...
  14. Capes certainly fit the concept ! Hard to tell from the low angle if they really hurt visually as much as has been reported. Anyway I think they could move off the bubble with this show and surprise a few corps.
  15. Just finished watch Xmen at Beverly on the FN. I really think this show has a lot potential. Interesting arrangements that are still (to a large degree) kicking the members butts. If they can get a hold of this show it could really take off!
  16. *bump* Now you all have to read the word again
  17. Really? Here's part of your last message So....who is this "us" you're speaking about. Voices in your head? You keep trying to jump from "some performers fell" to "favorable treatment of Crown and Cadets" and you've completely failed to make the case.
  18. LOL. Maybe YOU learned that. No one else here did. In the conditions at Bristol a few performers falling during the show would not have impacted anyone's score.
