  1. Here are a few pics. $200 and I will pay for shipping.
  2. OK guard fans. Here is a treat. These photos were discovered a couple of months ago when Christa Ferguson, widow of photog Ed Ferguson, gave me a box of things to rummage through for our reunion. The story goes like this. At the 1982 New England regional, Holly Hawks came and did a show based on Chick Corea. It was very hard to march to not what Holly was use to looking like for sure. They placed 3rd in prelims (remember it was ticks back then) and VM was so upset that he took the guard home, never went to finals the next day, and folded the guard. In retrospect they were probably ahead of their time. It was very cool, the ramps and prop (used by Canandaiqua later in the decade) created some cool effects. Here are some pictures I found of that prelims show, the last Holly competed. They are not great but you can see what it was all about. Enjoy,
  3. Here is another EM photo from 1995. Enjoy, I'll have a special photo surprise in a day or so. Dale
  4. I have located and purchased 1, need 3 more if anyone has any for sale. Dale
  5. In case anyone was interested, Greg LaGola of Emerald Marquis, SCV, and Cadets fame marched with Penn State Syndicate.
  6. Rockland Defenders have had an active alumni corps for three years.
  7. OK guard fans, what famous equipment writer marched with PSS? hint: This person has taught multiple world champions
  8. The hosting DM and CGC returning salutes sitting at the 50 yard line.
  9. In honor of our upcoming reunion here is a shot of of the Emerald Marquis in our very first show in 1982.
  10. Thank you both for the kind words, 1998 is also one of my favorite shows. Such a great bunch of kids too. It was an incredible group of rookies that year. Respectful, hard working and fun people. When we added people like Carrie Donnelly and Louis Hellinger to the guard we knew it was not going to be a boring season.
  11. send me your email to dale@wgi.org I am letting one of the guys use it for a brass ensemble in Rochester so it will be there if your interested. Dale
  12. I have a Dynasty 3V G Euphonium for sale. It plays very well and everything is in very good shape, valves, slides etc. It had a bell crease that I had removed and then had the bell rolled. Slight silver wrinkle but not noticable other than up real close. HORN IS SOLD, Thanks Dale
  13. Anyone have any for sale? PM please.
  14. We ended up staying in Allentown at the Super 8 on Airport Rd. The web site said: "Newest Hotel on Airport Rd". Since there are some nice hotels there we book 6 rooms and when we got there, discovered that they made a mistake, it was suppose to be called the Section 8 motel. What a dump. We stayed one night and left after Saturday and drove home to Boston.
  15. Having shipped many contra in the last couple of years I am an expert (lol) on shipping. A gig bag is good or bubble wrap the entire horn. 6 bags of peanuts in the box completly surrounding the horn and you can ship it in a cardboard moving box. I have never had a problem.
  16. Not sure who this is, Florida Vanguard maybe or Seattle Imperials?
  17. In 1976 VFW was in NY at Randall’s Island. After marching in the mandatory (stupid) night parade, which stepped off alphabetically by state, we got back to our housing at 1:30am. We had a bad draw (or late entry not sure) with a 7:30 step off. Inspection was at 7am. We had to get up early, go through the inspection process since DCI didn't do that anymore, and when we got there they cancelled inspection cause the sprinklers had been on and everyone had to walk through wet grass. I don't know why we didn't just go right to U of P.
  18. I have 2 tickets in section J row 18 for Saturday.
  19. Thank you for the kind comments. Our reunion is open to all friends, staff and members. Your more than welcome. Dale
