Over the years, the BD sop soloists haven't been known for their superior marching abilities. Obviously those cats can play though.... As for Jeff.....he kinda stumbles over himself getting back into a form...sortve funny....

Probably the rookies who had never done a retreat before finals night that made the most mistakes at finals retreat. Just one more reason to bring retreat back.....so people dont look silly and unrepresentational of their history on finals night! ANYWAYS.... I cant remember if its in 00 or 02 (BD)...but after Jeff Lynn plays one of his solos...when he rejoins the form behind him....its pretty obvious why he spent most of his time on the sideline!

I've played on concert tubas that play better than the Dynasty tuba I marched with, but when I consider all things for the total package....i.e. durability (which in my experience with the tubas, was very good), ergonomics of the horn in my hands in carry and in playing position, as well as its "wow" factor in size...(its a big friggin horn, biggest marching tuba currently produced I believe)....I had no real beef with it. However, my understanding is that the Dynasty tuba is the best instrument in the Dynasty line, which could help explain why I don't see what all the fuss is about with Dynasty. Regardless....no matter the opinion of the majority about Dynasty, I'd say its pretty obvious that the man behind the gun can make a big difference in the end!

Did anybody notice how drastically different the pit book is? Even in that short clip, the new guy is doing some great stuff.
