  1. One of a kind.....never be another I will miss him dearly Ken
  2. #3 played , in 68, with the Reilly/Archie combined corps which only lasted that one season He and a few others then went down to Baltimore and won a couple of Natioals Now playing with the Reilly Alumni and almost anyone else in the area Unfortunately he's not doing much swaying anymore Great guy and a good friend
  3. No' 2 not related to Joe Schmids. They started jn corps with the Ridley Park(Pa)Rangers and were lifelong friends. Albeit, no 2's life ended way too soon As an aside Danny Fitzpatrick is Joe's brother in-law No. 2 also was identified many pages ago. Pic showed him in a Yankee Rebel uni with a cigarette and a can of beer
  4. Guy on the right confirmed on Sunday that it was Scranton in 2005
  5. I marched next to this GW for most of those Archie years, couldn't know a better person His latest solo with Rebels and Swing House of "Sleepy Time Down South was amazing Sweetest ever
  6. That cat would be Bob Adaire of Reilly Raiders "Stardust" fame and recent inductee into the Buglers Hall of Fame Sadly, Bob passed away a few months ago
  7. Let's try this again I competed many times against this fine group of church supported drum corps, including the Dream Contest every year, and rumor had it that if we, the Liberty Bell Cadets from Philadelphia, were ever going to win in North Jersey we would have to rename our corps "The Jesus Christ Cadets"
  8. I'm not quite as short as Jim, but to the best of my memory Dom joined Archie for the 1964 season with a group of guys from the Vasella Musketeers
  9. A lot of talent in that merged corps....completely new repertoire..all learned in about two months Could have been a major force in a year or so Cities Service Band of America March Up, up and away Cherish Swing Low Sweet Chariot...concert A few more that escape me at the moment I do have a recording from a contest fron thee Gaelic Field show in the Bronx Charts were written buy Skip Groff......who was the Reilly guy at the time Larry Kerchner was to be theArchie arranger then Unfortunately, neither corps had enough members to be able to get on the field, hence, the "merger" The worker bees got along quite well. but the political infighting was too tough Ken Newman ....aka Red Shamrock A name now used by group of the former Archie guys now in the Reilly Alumni
  10. Sorry, you both are right He has a shirt with the names embroidered of all of the corps he marched Sky is on there He marched with Archie in the 60's where we first met and later in the alumni
  11. That'll work....saw her last weekend in Wildwood at the Irish Festival On to no. 3 Longtime member Archie, Rebels, Reilly Alumni Now playing Mello for Cabs Alumni and Swing House and one of my all time best friends Ken
  12. No.1 started with the "Belles of St. Mary's" in S. Jersey played with Reilly Alums went to Cabs alumni for a few years and now back with Reilly might be a stretch for anyone from far away places
  13. presently only two are with the Reilly Raiders nos' 1 & 4 2 & 3 are in different corps
  14. No need to go back in time for this one Pic was taken this past Saturday in Scranton All are presently active in in the Alumni world although in three separate corps
