Predictions for Annapolis
asifindnoarta replied to mwetzel1's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
haha I dunno... there's a pretty good chance of that happening. I honestly think the Cavaliers will take it tomorrow just because they usually come out stronger than the Cadets who seem to click later in the season typically. But I saw the Cadets show on youtube and it isn't half bad especially for this early. Each section is pretty solid - guard, drumline, hornline, and narratorline. -
I don't know if you intended to indicate a tie for 1st by that back-slash but uh... no ties at the top anymore. Official DCI rules. I think if there is a scored tie at the top the trophy goes to the corps with the higher GE mark but I'm not sure, can anyone confirm that? I don't feel like looking it up.

The cadets historically make huge jumps after off years. 1986 4th - 1987 1st 1989 5th - 1990 1st 1991 6th - 1992 2nd 1999 4th - 2000 1st 2004 4th - 2005 1st 2006 5th - 2007 ???? I'm not saying this trend guarantees that the Cadets will win or anything. I'm just pointing out that the Cadets sure do like to come back from off years with a chip on their shoulder.

SCV will not win this year.

Sure... if you've got Star around.

.... go on...

The GITANO has hit the road...
asifindnoarta replied to GlassFan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
What are the Gitano? I don't understand, is this some reference to mythology or literature that I don't know about. -
WOW!!! This topic is specifically intended to exclude any discussion of narration and already people are mentioning it. This just affirms my utter disdain with the general awareness that people bring to DCP. What makes matters worse, is now I have stooped to the level of all you reckless posters out there and I'm mentioning narration myself. AHHHH!

BD and Cadets aren't both going to be out of the top four in the same year... seriously now. Maybe one of 'em but not both - too unlikely.
-
The Blue Coats might pass one of those two corps but it's very very doubtful and passing both of them is even less likely. The Blue Devils are allowed out of the top three.... yowza! and so are cavies, but I doubt it. But, the odds of both of those corps being out of the top three in the same year are slim to none. If one of the two drop down they're gonna make way for the other and the two other contenders which are PR and Cadets. Not in today's drum corps they won't. In order to win, Bluecoats have to be better than Cavies, BD, PR, Cadets, and every other drum corps at the same time. That's a long list of good drum corps all of which have a high statistical chance of winning than the coats. Bluecoats might pass one of these four corps but not all of them. Unless they've had a staff overhaul that I don't know about and a complete shift in corps mentality and personality the response to your last statement is... that's exactly right. BLue Coats will not Win DCI this year.

BK ahead of SCV.... nope Bluecoats above Cadets and BD... wrong Blue Stars in 10th... sorry

YEA to produce broadway musical
asifindnoarta replied to asifindnoarta's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
no -
I've marched and won and all I can say is, beats me. I mean I knew we were good but I have no idea what judges think about when they put numbers down.
-
This fall YEA will produce the classic musical, Les Miserables, only like you've never seen before. Their anticipated production will actually present the story of their 1989 season. The performance will effectively be a musical about a drum corps show about a musical. Seriously.

well now I forgot about BK... ah screw it
