  1. I can still remember Grace's kindness to me as a 16 year old kid, unsure of what was going on, with a kind word or two from her making things all right. She had an easygoing attitude that made everyone feel like part of the family. I vividly remember how her loss hurt all members of the corps, we all took it personally, and shared in the Silva's family grief. She was one of a kind. One of the Freelancers greatest strengths was that it was a family run corps, and when we joined, we were invited to become part of that family. Through good times and bad.
  2. The Bari player is Erik Conkell (sp?) He was from Solvang in Santa Barbara County. Have not seen or heard from him in many years, but last I heard he was living in Montana, has a great wife and kids! ( You all grow up so fast!) Karl Sarff and I wrote out the Freelancer Knight tale, I will have to dig around to find it, but I will post it when I do. Marching and teaching with the Corps and being a small part of so many great Freelancer's lives was a unforgetable experience for me. Like many others, the person I am today was shaped and defined by my years with the Corps. It was a magical time! :) "The Freelancers will never die, for the true sprit of the Corps lives within each of us, we few, we merry band of brothers and sisters."
  3. Sparky and the rest of the house were enjoying Jose Cuervo shots and nachos made with "Mr. Pepper" and goverment cheeze. A staple at the K.G.B. house. :sshh: Only the best food for our guest! lol
  4. What a cool thread! Thanks to Lance for turning me on to it! It really brings back memories to hear and relive those great times and to hear about the corps before my time! SHOUT OUT to everyone who ever had fun at our pad, the K.G.B. Any of you who want to drop me a line can at visdog@aol.com! Michael P. Grogan FREELANCER 1982-1993 :)
