If I wanted body movement, I would go to the ballet.  It seems like a waste of talent to have brass members rolling around on the ground for such an excessive amount of time.

While I absolutely acknowledge that today's drum corps shows are more intricate, and possibly more enjoyable, than decades prior, I feel that the amount of showtime dedicated to choreography has become excessive.

Bloo's guard unis were amazing..the corps "hippie camo" costumes/uniform were just not good (being nice) for all the body they were putting into the show.  People REALLY need to take note at what BD does in regards to this.  They actually make the form, pause so you can see it CLEARLY defined THEN do body.  Everyone else is in a hurry to be blobs.

  2. Just got back from Cinemark, didn't wait for scores.  What stuck out for me.

BD-They are going to win.  They really have no weaknesses.  Props for this show seem an after thought IMHO.

BAC-Nice show.  Mello's seriously out of tune at the beginning of the show.  Little bit of dirt in percussion (from a horn guy here).  Guard is every bit as amazing as was promoted.

Bloo-A LOT of backdrop props.  Show is cool but seriously stop smoking joints when you are discussing the next years show.  Strong visual save the costumes and uniforms make is hard to see what they are doing on turf.  Seriously ANY other color would have worked.  The guard looked great in their costumes.

Crown-Throwback show?  Seemed like this show would have been right there in 2010-2014.  I enjoyed the production.  They seemed to move very well.  My only gripe (with all Crown shows) is that throwing in mass Arban exercises into every show that make no musical sense is getting stale.

Mandarins-Seems like an updated Cadets show (Good and Evil?)  I dig it.  Didn't really like the white robe things.  Props at end were cool.  I personally would have thrown up LOL.

Phantom-Looking cleaner.  Probably my ballad of the year award.  Could take the goo back a little.  But, to be fair their horn line is that loud.  Show probably flows the best 2-12.

Cadets-I liked the show.  I personally think that the uniforms/costumes ruin a fantastic visual program.  Makes them look blobby is that is a word.  I mean for really hot shows this makes total sense but for finals...not feeling it.

Cavies-STRONG drumline.  IMHO best of the night.  Actually did not like the thing they stuck on their hats.  Real plumes look SO much better IMHO.  They looked and sounded great.  The only thing was little visual tears every now and then.

Colts- First corps of the night that had a great show IMHO AND had a clue about interval and distance and why we clean drill.  Thank you!  What a clever show done well.

Blue Stars-I mean not a bad show but the color schemes?  The whole having everyone wear different uniforms/costume (at the beginning) makes no sense and makes them seem dirty.  Again a green on green uniform that loses acuity upstairs.

Troopers- I LOVE this show.  And FWIW the harmonica I think was from a Charles Bronson western I believe.  Very cool. I can see them beating Blue Stars and Colts.

Blue Knights-I do not see how this is beating Crossman.  I seriously don't get it.

Crossman-You should be in top 12 IMHO.

PC-Great push this year.  Neat show design.  VERY dirty for finals.

Spirit- Welcome back in a big way.  VERY enjoyable show.  Could see you above PC simply because of being cleaner.

What I can remember.  Small crown at theatre tonight.

If you make an honest effort to describe their identity without using gender-based terms, you might end up with a solid, accurate list of adjectives that we should now understand are not exclusive to males.

That's pretty unfair.  People are allowed to post without cowering to gender censor.

In regards to kick halts and the kick out. I was under the impression that those things were done to reward the members for certain milestones and good old hard work. Again, I never marched PR. But if that is the case and the MM's feel rewarded and feel a connection to their corps family by doing it, screw the #### score bump scenario and let them have it because it's a tradition that allows that common bond. And in an activity that is supposed to be fan centric, if the crowd digs it, give the people what they want. I think we're reading too much into something that really has nothing to do with a score.

LOL, I was there for the first one.  Actually it just looks cool and bad@$$.

Yes, it might not be a big deal.  A poster said a bus had no a/c.  My initial post was about why not put the non a/c bus mm on the other vehicles going to the show.  Seems like a simple solution.  Then a message from PR did not mention a bus issue.  When looking at the PR website, it told of a camp in the Dallas area where PR was holding a clinic for DM's and guard students and mm of PR would be present.  If this took place, that's about 280 miles to BAHS.  My curiosity was activated.

Meh, they made a decision.  A minor one at that.  Let's not Karen this to death.

Not enough information and with what information we do have, this particular situation is out of the drum corps worlds hands now. The accuser stated Bluecoats did everything she needed them to do and it would appear the accused is leaving “on his own accord” though I believe that to be more of a “mutual” suggested course of action.

Well, hopefully there will be resolution of this at some point.  This is on the internet now and will certainly ruin lives.

It is never stated that the Bluecoats allowed it. It is just speculation. I highly doubt that the Bluecoats of all corps would have ever allowed that to happen. They cannot constantly be monitoring adults who are expected to behave like adults.

Welcome to the modern USA nanny state.  I honestly don't get holding organizations, when they take prudent measures, need to be lambasted over adult individuals that do bad things that, it the world of reality, no one can stop 100% of the time.  It would be like chasing a fart in a whirlwind.  I mean even BEYOND any contract you sign you (the adult individual) are still held to the letter of the law regardless.
