  1. In celebration of Ford's life Mighty St. Joe's will be playing at the Funeral Home on Friday. We would like to extend an invitation to anyone whether a member, former member or not of the corps to be a part of this. There should be music available to anyone who is interested so if you are planning on attending bring along your horn. The corps will be meeting at the Funeral home at 9:00 A.M. for warm-ups. Click HERE for directions.
  2. The entire Mighty St. Joe's family is greatly saddened by the loss of one of our corps' members. Ford fought an incredible battle with such high spirits and sense of humor. Even as several of us spent time with him on our way home from Harrisburg just a few weeks ago Ford was still planning on playing at the Classic. The corps will surely miss all his jokes and jovial laughter. This loss has again created a huge hole in MSJ's ranks and the drum corps world that will never be able to be filled. God speed Ford from all of your friends and family members from Mighty St. Joe's. Lois, we are all here for you and your family. Just let us know what we can do........... "Built Ford Tough!"
  3. See you all this morning at Hartwood Park, 9:30 SHARP! Gonna be a great day..........
  4. Mighty St. Joe's would like to again thank everyone that participated in and attended The Curt Anderson Memorial Classic. We now begin to prepare for the parade and exhibition season in honor of our dear friend and family member. This Sunday kicks off our summer schedule with outdoor drill practice at Hartwood Park, 9300 South Street Rd. LeRoy NY from 9:30 'till 1:00. There are still plenty of openings in all of our sections BUT we are really looking to increase the size of our working color guard. Come join us this Sunday and learn the drill in one day. It will probably be just a few starts and stops before we get to our concert formation to entertain the audience. Hope to see some new blood this Sunday and plenty of the old blood too! Check out our summer schedule, music and pictures from Harrisburg and the Classic at www.mightystjoes.com
  5. Let me officially wrap this topic (The Curt Anderson Memorial Classic) up by just saying "Thank You All" from the entire Mighty St. Joe's Family for making this truly a Classic. What a show, each and every organization put on a tremendous performance. Certainly Curt would have been very proud of everyone's efforts this past Saturday night. And as for the party, another great get together of drum corps families. Thank you again and hope to see you all at next year's Classic and through out the 2009 season.
  6. Thanks so much Donny but the guy who got it last year deserves more than a green jacket. He (you) certainly were key to MSJ and GR having such great performances. By the way, you got all the letters in my name right just in the wrong order........
  7. Bruce, thanks so much for your kind words about MSJ. This had to be the most rewarding show that I have ever played with the corps. Amazing Grace takes an awful lot out of us emotionally but to bounce back right away and bust out with Bully puts us right back on track. I believe that the corps walked out of Apollo last night knowing that we just did an incredible job of paying tribute to one of the corps finest members. Curt is so missed but there is no way he will ever be forgotten. By the way that was 12 across the snare/tenor line - curtain to curtain. Be sure to say "Hi" to Sandy from all her fellow cymbalists and congratulations on completing your journey!
  8. I think it was just a drummer (percussionist)........... How'd that happen?
  9. And I am home...... What a great night for all the green. Thanks to all the corps that did the show. It was a great success and a wonderful tribute to Curt Anderson.
  10. ...and aren't you a little green, Green Horn? NOT! See ya there, MSJ WILL ROCK THE HOUSE!!!!!! along with GR, Prime Time, Reilly, CRU & Opti!
  11. ...so wear your colors - GREEN! See ya' at THE CURT ANDERSON MEMORIAL CLASSIC
  12. What drill, we doin' that again? OK! Great idea and should have all those that couldn't be in H-burg..... "The Curt Anderson Memorial Classic goes GREEN"! What a great promo....
  13. Just 3 more days........and you can bet on it. Weather in Greece NY on Saturday - 80 deg. and Sunny!
  14. Thanks David. MSJ is looking for a great drum corps audience to entertain just like in Harrisburg. I'm certain all of the other corps are planning the same. And don't forget the "old fashion" drum corps party to follow the show just down the street at the Barnard Exempts!
  15. Less than 2 weeks away. The corps is shaping up for a big show. Preview MSJ at Harrisburg!
  16. Ya, with a stick (or sticks). They knew enough not to mess with us country boys!
  17. My bad Stacy. Apparently the "power of advertising" just doesn't do as much from drum corps as it does for every other sporting event in and around the Rochester area. Again I say "some of the best entertainment for such little money". Just amazed by the lack of attendance. Everyone there put on a great show for so early in the spring. Looking forward to The Curt Anderson Memorial Classic in just over two weeks.
  18. Nice job Saturday night. Too bad CRU doesn't advertise these shows a little better. Great opportunity to see some of the areas' finest for a very reasonable price. Glad to see some from MSJ both on stage and in the audience. Voluntary horn & percussion rehearsal this coming Friday, 4/10, at the Batavia VA. Last practice before "Serenade in Brass" and "The Curt Anderson Memorial Classic XVI". Hope to see everyone there for some personal instruction by Donny & Larry.
  19. Hope they're ready, St. Joe's will be........... just 3 weeks away. Also see us in 2 weeks at the Serenade in Brass - Harrisburg PA. Practice tomorrow - April 5th, 9:30 at the LeRoy NY Middle School.
  20. New . Check it out.......... good pics, great music! There were a few from all the sections missing, should be very exciting at Harrisburg and the Classic.
  21. This will be a really fun night for a very cheap price. And the proceeds will go to a great organization! Hope to see lots of Mighty St. Joe's jackets there.......... Good luck to all the participating organizations both for this show and all of 2009. See you there.
