  1. Seems like the 2008 season is going to take us all by surprise. Many guards are taking over the reigns and fighting for a championship this year, Scholastic World especially with Logan leaving 1st place open for the take. I'm excited to see what the outcome of this season will be. Current rankings (top 5) IW 1. Fantasia 2. Blessed Sacrament 3. Pride of Cincinnati 4. Northeast Independent 5. Zydeco feedback: I'm delighted to see Blessed Sac moving up in rankings. Also nervous to see where Northeast will end up, I saw they beat Pride at the Nashville Prelims. SW 1. Flanagan HS 2. Miaisburg HS 3. Cheshire HS 4. Carmel HS 5. Warren Central HS feedback: Avon still hasn't had a regional, so we will see who gets bumped up or down in the rankings. Personally, I believe the gold in SW will go to the colorguard who is hungry for it. Those poor Avon girls have been tasting the silver for quite a while now, so I don't think anyone should get too comfortable their ranking spot. IO 1. Alter Ego 2. Ventures 3. Diamante 4. Top Hats 5. Emanon feedback: Extremely happy to see Alter Ego at the top of the list, I am a huge fan. SO 1. Americas HS 2. Oak Ridge HS 3. King Philip Regional HS 4. Lake Central HS 5. Lake Park HS feedback: Loving Lake Central with their show entitled Navaras. IA 1. Capella Winterguard 2. Interplay 3. Northgate Independent 4. Fahrenheit 5. Cascades Independent feedback: I have my fingers crossed for Fahrenheit. Not being biased or anything !! SA 1. Pope HS 2. Chippewa Valley HS 3. Lassiter HS 4. Flower Mound HS 5. Colonial HS feedback: I think that there are way too many SA colorguards. There are almost 200 colorguards competing in this unit. Too many individual guards for me to keep track of. But I did recently get a chance to see Colonial at the Fort Lauderdale Regional, beautiful children. What does everyone else think? P.S. if you would like to keep track of your favorite colorguard's ranking go to http://www.guardbuzz.com/index.html
  2. OH! I would give anything to have Kennesaw back! Their program in 2006 was beautiful!
  3. Who would you like to see come out on top in 2008? Top 3??? I know it's a bit early. just wanting to know people's opinion.
  4. You took the words right out of my mouth. also.. If I had the money: NEI. If I was still in High School: Logan or Flanagan.
  5. I completely agree. I wish winter season would last a bit longer.
  6. Exactly "what" are you refering to?
  7. Here are my thoughts. SW- James Logan desevered the gold. Everyone keeps saying Avon got cheated out but heres the way I look at it. Those girls on Avon are absolutly amazing, but their choice in music wasnt the best and the show itself wasnt as greatly put together as Logan's. Also I've been reading alot of things about Arcadia and Flanagan. I was able to see both guards in prelims and finals. Arcadia didn't have such a good run in prelims (but still good) or finals, while Flanagan had an amazing run in prelims and not such a good run in finals ( but still pretty good). I would have given the bronze to Flanagan because they always manage to have brilliant shows, while Arcadia on the other hand usually has those shows that have you wondering what your watching or what does it all mean?? I also believe that Shenendohowa should has placed higher, even though I wasn't so sure about my thoughts on the velvet floor they still had a really good show. IW- Well before I sat down to watch the IW I was so excited to watch Pride and Fantasia. Im sorry to say and know I may get attacked for saying this, but I was NOT impressed with either guards. I guess I'm holding them to certian standards but I thought both shows were going to be better. Aimachi was amazing but this is COLORGUARD, but the crowd was on the their toes for them. Northeast Independent, Phantom Regiment, and Corona, I think they were EXTREMELY cheated out. I agree with whoever mentioned NEI's weapon line, BREATH TAKING, they deserved third and I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS. Maybe I just enjoyed the show a little too much but personally Phantom should have placed higher. Corona! Oh I have plenty to say. I loved the show, I loved everything I just dont understand why in the world they got 8th, CLEARLY top 5. But one guard I forgot to mention was a guard that didnt even make finals. In Motion, maybe this just another show I fell in love with at the Vegas regional. But I thought they should have definatly made finals. Those are my thoughts on WGI World Championships 2007
  8. oh come on! You know your dying to say it!!! :sshh:
  9. Who do you feel was cheated out on either making finals, medaling, or placing higher??? <**>
  10. Well I loved loved loved NEI, Corona, Aimachi, and of course the rest of the top three IW. James Logan was amazing! They deserved the gold medal! I wasnt so sure about Arcadia taking home the bronze, I wasnt exactly crazy about their show sorda boring. I personally would of given the bronze to Flanagan. Also I was really upset (but not surprised because of their placement through out the season) when In Motion IW didnt make finals. I loved their show Alanis Morsette- univited was such a good song and they spun amazing especially the guy with the mohawk and did anyone notice the boy who looked like he was maybe 15? He was awesome too! I could barley take my eyes off of him!
  11. Well I found all the IW and SW scores at championships were really close. I think that Amachi should have placed a little higher, they were brilliant this weekend absolutly breathtaking. And the whole debacle between Arcadia and Flanagan in prelims with ther two different scores posted and then ending the season with one tenth of a point between them. Also Avon and Logan with only two tenths, those poor girls seemed so disappointed when they heard the scores. Well everyone put in a good fight this season and it was one of the best years yet. B)
  12. im trying to sign up for the webcast and i clicked the link but i cant find where i can register... did anyone already do it?!
  13. yes its true. They only took shots of the percussion regional, and there is also no videos up either. Pretty sad since I had such a great prelims and finals run, so I wanted proof of it.
  14. this year is going to be a very intresting outcome. Except I think that most of the shows people choose this year are a little boring. But I still cant wait for this friday! anyone have opinions? what guards will make top three? b**bs
  15. i just checked and they weren't up, only the percussion pictures were posted. And also may I ask why the videos from the Nashville Regional arn't posted on WGI.org either? I though the last regional of the year would be a little more important than this!
  16. i think they are taking way to long to post the nashville regional pictures! any agreements! <**>
  17. Well I'm speaking in general, not only this year. But Miamisburg had been a top-noche guard since WGI started. Flanagan has only been a SW for about 3 years, i think. SO correct me if I'm wrong, which I'm most certain I'm not, Flanagan would be the underdog. On another note. Who knows what colorguards are going to World Class Exhibition? And I hate to be negative, but I was watching a video clip of Avon High School (SW) and I thought they have very talented girls but I found the music extremely boring. By the way has anyone noticed the song "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap is everywhere! About 4 or 5 guards are using it. YIKES!!
  18. well considering the fact that Miamisburg has been at the top in Scholastic World for many years now, except last year (i just think they made a bad choice in the theme of their show), I believe last year was the first time Flanagan ever made top 5, if i have my history correct. So i would think that that would make them the underdogs because it seems they have Arcadia running for the Bronze medal this year.
  19. well i didnt get to see any SA, IA, SO, or IO but i made it just in time to see Miamisburg (SW) and Flanagan (SW). They were both amazing. I was happy to see the "underdogs" (Flanagan) win. I love the intensity of their show, I hope they metal at WGI. I stuck around and saw a couple of IW. By far Phantom Reg. was my favorite. They move so well, and show off the amazing skills they have. It was a pretty good regional, I just wish a couple more World guards went. What does everyone else think? Im not limiting your thoughts to only the Nashville Regional. Just what cologuard is surprising you the most the season in general. THANKS!
