I'll be auditioning on snare. And would you happen to know if the snares will be auditioning on a tilted snare?

I've never read tenor (6) music before. Is the second spock written a step above where the spock is written for quint music?

I own the Vic Firth Quadropad and I think it is great. The pad is visually appealing and when combined with the laminates, it feels like you're actually playing tenors. The laminates are made of plastic, so playing sweeps feels a lot better than on the rubber. With our without the laminates though, it's a great pad.

Thanks for all the replies guys, but I think this one might be my problem. Until you said relax throughout my hands and wrists, I remembered that Leif Marwede had also told me the same thing. He said I tensed up through my whole arm, when I shouldn't be. (Just one of those things I forgot)

I've had people tell me that whenever I play rolls, I pinch on the stick to much (index finger and thumb at the fulcrum). Has anybody else had this problem? How do I get rid of this habit?

So are you saying that the Div II/III corps need to take it easy and have a relaxed environment? I swear, if I made a Div II/III corps, and they took it easy on me, I'd quit. I don't want to march Drum Corps so that I can learn some music, take it easy, and then play in some shows. I want to get GOOD. I want to become great so that I can make a better DCI or WGI line. If that means beating the crap out of me all summer, so be it.
