Bluecoats is excited to welcome TAMA | BERGERAULT as our new percussion Performance Partner. The partnership will equip the Bluecoats percussion ensemble with TAMA | BERGERAULT marching & concert instruments. Additionally, TAMA | BERGERAULT will support other programs that serve the Bluecoats mission of providing life-changing performance opportunities for young people around the world.

The Blue Way Summer Arts Camp and the En-Rich-Ment Drumline are two examples of such programs. The Blue Way Summer Arts Camp is a program where students rehearse alongside the Bluecoats and get the Bluecoats Experience for a weekend. En-Rich-Ment, a partner of Bluecoats’ that operates free after-school programs for students in Stark County, will also receive support.

I dont really recall it raining anytime in August, but tbf I have been on the road the past five years away from Texas during that time so I could be mistaken.
Only issue would be the heat, but IMO thats probably enough to not want to do finals in Texas. Even though this is just a pipe dream of mine.

Agreed. There have been plenty of precarious show starts in TX the past few years related to heat. Either start time bumps or cancellations.

Probability of precipitation for College Station in mid-August sits around 22% and Indy is around 34%.

But the heat around there would be the argument for indoors.

  3. These threads are rituals.

Every time a new "state of the art" nfl stadium is launched, a new thread is started, speculating on the potential change of DCI offices and Finals week.

    I remember the SoFi thread.

And I knew a lot of folks both on and off DCP were especially convinced by the chatter around US Bank Field in Minnesota.

Given the relative financial health of a post-2020 DCI, I would only expect a change if they are in need of a huge (desperate) cost-save. And that type of move wouldn't likely be for a bigger facility with more bells and whistles.

As far as the other ideas in favor of relocating...

Texas has a fantastic marching band scene. And you'd be closer to TX. Yet, still not there. If there was another state that came to mind in regards to marching band, where would that be? Yeah. And DCI is at the epicenter of it. Along with BOA. And a stone's throw from WGI.

I was on RAMD and was an unmitigated assclown/#########. I'd like to blame it on being young and dumb but I wasn't young enough for that to fly.

I recognize several of the posters in this thread from those days and have some fond memories of those times. I wish you all well and even send warm wishes to those that I sparred with.

If we didn't have some regrets about our time on RAMD, we may have never ended up here! 👍

I am not a journalist. So in order to prove that my summary is from 1st-hand survivor accounts, I will be posting direct links to their public claims.  I did not want to post these here because of The way we have seen Previous abuse survivors treated over past across the Internet. Their stories are graphic and hard to stomach. Fair warning.

If you have survived sexual violence or have concerns about potential survivors and if/when to report or where to start, RAINN is a highly qualified start point. Both in terms of  handling survivor support and logistics of various regional methods and channels. https://www.rainn.org/

One of the posts has been removed but it has been shared via MAASIN. There are additional survivor statements added at  MAASIN as well.

  6. Rennick students aren't 100% locks to be the next Rennick. (note: this is not an insult BTW. Not every Mike Krzyzewski player/assistant becomes the next Coach K. ya know?) But beyond the excellent pedigree, this new percussion team has a collective history within the Regiment family. This is the kind of "little" thing that can make the difference between a good fit and a great fit.

Likewise no mention of Adam Sage.

How can the "design team return" if two of the designers don't return? Or why only profile three of the designers if everyone is coming back?

SCV would look and sound real good in Saint Seans Symphony No 3 in C minor. On my phone so can't link, but holy mole Chicago's recording is amazing. There's enough meat there for a whole show. 🤤

In my mind, they would have to nail it so hard. Because:

    1. This is Regiment trademark territory.

    and

    2. As someone who has been observing the marching activities across independent and scholastic groups for 40 years, I need another Organ Symphony, Carnival of Animals, or Danse Macabre on the field or gym floor like I need another First Circle on the field or gym floor. That is to say, I feel like I don't need it. 😁

  9. Speak for yourself. After 10 years and 12,000+ posts, I think we all have enough information to make our own judgments about "Cappy's" content.

EDIT: **This should not be read as me being in agreement with cappybara on this issue, or necessarily any others.**

    Folks-

Am on phone & can’t make cut / paste work, but google ‘fitting to form colter’.  You will see what appears to be a Univ of Michigan Masters Thesis entitled

Fitting to Form:  A Study of Organizational Responsibility and Misconduct in Modern-Day Drum and Bugle Corps

It is written by an individual who marched 2021 and has firsthand experiences
