The stick toss ( with only 2 ) was in the 1983 version as well, but the 3rd stick was added to 1984 and lasted twice as long, hoping that people would notice it. Too bad it didn't make the video. I think Tony made up 3 stick toss, he was always great at that kind of stuff. We started out with 3 white sticks but about half way through the season a judge suggested that we make it interesting with a different color and we picked yellow. We had concerns that any drop of the white stick would doom one of us to play the rest of the show with one yellow and one white, but at Finals when David dropped, it was the yellow stick that flew.

I thought all the corps did a great job last night. I've been pretty much stocked up on Souvie items over the past couple of years, but I was really excited to buy a Crossmen DVD that covers 1990-1999. Although I was mostly absent from the Drum Corps scene during that time span, I still remember their Pat Metheney shows from 91 and 98 and I'll be watching them once I get this "work" stuff out of the way today. Crossmen fan since 1977... Go Bones ! Go Spirit !

OK, so I've lurked here in the Geezer section and I've enjoyed reliving the days when I was just a highschool kid and fan... reading the posts of folks from the corps I worshipped Then WHAMMM you have to post a pic of those @$%^* North Snare drums. Aaaaaccckk ! just when the nightmares had finally gone away after 24 years. At least the mental anguish is easier to deal with than the back problems our Tenors had. Well it's back to therapy, and back to lurking Thanks a pant load ! B)
