Exactly. In 2008 Prosperie could have ran for President after he dropped the hammer on BDs drums. The consensus was he called it like he saw it, and he didn't let slotting influence his judgement.

2019, now BD is on the otherside of Prosperie's judging, the consensus............who is this Prosperie guy, he never calls it like he sees it, BD must be paying him under the table...........

For a few people, sure.  And for a few BD fans it was the same thing in the other direction.

But what if we are not getting into winning shows EVERY YEAR? Especially when I can point to 2015 and 2019 where I honestly think the wrong corps won.

Not everyone is going to like the same kinds of music, so if a corps that you don't get into wins most years, I can see where that would be a bit of a bummer.

But look on the bright side.  You can watch every corps you DO like and then beat the traffic home.

You want them to stop playing jazz? Are you nuts? That is literally their legacy and style of music they have always been associated with.

That's like asking Phantom to have a show with no classical music.

    Sheesh!

I love both the Blue Devils and Phantom (most years) but I would NOT like it if they traded genres.  They are good at what they are good at.

well it depends, honestly. the more people interested the better, that is obvious, but what kind of people do we want in the community; people who are hateful and unwilling to change their ways, or open minded people who are willing to accept and appreciate the talent and creativity at blue devils? i personally would want the latter, and if that means some people take their leave, then thats something i am willing to accept. nobody likes a hateful viewer.

Ironically, I think it was the Blue Devils who changed their ways and came back to playing more entertaining shows more often from 2014 on.  A lot of people just couldn't get into shows like 2010 and 2012, but that doesn't make them hateful.

  5. I switched from my TV (from laptop via HDMI) speakers to directly on my AIO with decent headphones and the sound quality was 1000% better.  Pretty sure my old home theater was not as good either.

Maybe it’s hard to compete with direct sound without bouncing around a room from speakers that don’t have to be big because they are right next to your ears.  Not to mention a screen that can handle high resolution fast because it can be small since I am only a foot away.

Sure, it lacks some comforts but I got used to watching DCI on a 6 inch screen at my college library in 1984.

I’ll enjoy comforts at the theater on Prelims night.  🙂

I'll be honest, I have absolutely no idea how people live in Texas or Arizona. Spare me from the "it's a dry heat" nonsense, it's still HOT 😂

You just mostly stay indoors during the summer, like people do other places during the winter.

It all evens out when you put up Christmas lights in a tee shirt and shorts.

Chaos and fluctuations are great! As long as they are representative of what's happening on the field from night to night. The scores last night don't read as a "show of the night" they read as "these people are not applying the sheets the same as the other judges", which is a problem.

The swing in numbers/placements from Saturday to yesterday are way outside the "this group had a better run" range, that's the problem.

What’s your explanation then for why judges in several different categories scored PC lower vs Crossmen than the previous judges?

Do you believe they are all corrupt or incompetent coincidentally in the same direction?

Were they directed to score things differently by someone in DCI?

    Is there a conspiracy?

i was just talking in the big show thread about ge moments and how a bunch of corps are getting closer and closer to really hitting them.

crown has several, but the one i'm really looking forward to is when the brass, front ensemble, and battery are bouncing triplet phrases off each other in the middle of the show.  it just feels a bit uncertain right now, but i'm telling you, that is going to be pretty rad pretty soon.

That would fit the love triangle aspect.
