  1. It has now been traded, sorry for the delayed reply.
  2. I'm just going to stop talking about the Kanstuls, because for one, I have never played one, but I would like to to see what everyone witches about. We obviously have 2 different opinions and want to prove the other wrong. I'll believe what I want to and you believe what you want to and the world is happy. So is DCP forums. I'll just keep my opinions and facts to myself...
  3. You're obviously full of crap, because as in "rights" it's the right to make the k-90 and possibly modify it. Have you not noticed that king no longer makes k-90s and that Kanstul is making replicas of k-90s?
  4. I would pick a k-90 (the star horn) over any other contra on the field. I would like to have a 3 valve for my I & E solo this fall. King sold the rights on the k-90s to Kanstul. The contra grande is technically a k-90 with a 3rd valve and a bent tuning slide...
  5. Shame on you The sad thing is, we do stuff like that all the time lol Come check out our next camp! Woohoo!
  6. Smells like onions from when it was covered with black tarnish. it looks great now. Did some scrubbing with silver polish and a few baths. It sounds and looks as great as a 24-25 year old horn should. Few places where it has silver eaten off and the bell has seen better days, but it's as close to great as it's goign to be. Speaking of which, there was talk of re plating and getting dings out. Sounds like a good plan to me. I should own my own k-90 soon. Maybe I'll post the serial number on it and ask for help again!
  7. We found out it is a star horn. We put ropes on it now since our drum corps director is from the star contra line in 92. Coolest thing is, it gets to sit in my living room on display. Then it gets alot of action at camp and at shows :p My director, Matt Basey hopes that it's his horn that he marched with Star.
  8. Heh, when I first read the topic, I thought you actually exploded your contra! So thats what Scott's horn looks like in pieces
  9. This horn is still for sell. E-mail me for pictures!
  10. You wait until the day after I put mine up to put yours up :p It still leaves me heart broken that you're selling it, the best playing horn I've ever played. Such a beautiful instrument!
  11. I currently have a BB flat Cerveny tuba for sale, Model CBB-686.It's mostly gold and has silver plating on the tuning slides, as well as the valving, lead pipe, and an inch of silver around the bell. Gold or silver doesn't make the horn, it's what it sounds like. This horn has a great low to high range, making it great to work with in any ensemble. I recently was KMEA all-state band with it. It was well in tune with everyone around me. I really love everything about it, from the quiet, but fast action on the rotary valves, easy to pull out tuning slides, to how it can outplay anyother tuba in any ensemble. It's a very open horn playing wise, so it's great to let lose on and you wont lose control. It'll be 3 years old this June. I got it my freshman year [i'm currently a senior] as a late birthday present from my mother before she passed away. I would love to hold onto it, but I don't have any real reason to. I no longer have an ensemble to use it in. I recently had to switch schools and the one I go to now doesn't have a band program. I really have no use for a B flat horn anymore, so I need an upgrade I'm asking $3000 [includes gigbag], because it's in really good condition, except for 3 small dings that you really have to look for to see. I'm trying to finish up school and the best thing, since I don't have a band class, is to sell it to someone who can use it. I feel guilty it sitting on the couch in my living room not being played. I'm going to try to get some pictures are soon as I can. I will also trade for a 3-4 valved G contra if anyone is interested. Email me at spongebobtubapnt@aol.com or PM me if you have any questions.
  12. Come check us out this weekend, you wont be disapointed!

The fee goes towards your membership dues. We have family show atmosphere and like to keep the vulgarity down to a minimum as much as possible for our younger corp members. We try to bond as a family and have many activities when Saturday night rehearsal is over. Everyone is welcome to stay at the school, but we will ask you to walk the campus after Sunday rehearsal to make sure it's clean. A clean rehearsal site will be better so we can keep this rehearsal sight in the future.
