A troll? Really? I don’t know you from Adam. My opinion just differs from yours. That makes me a troll? Honestly. This is silly.

As much as I enjoy PR there’s no way they’re placing higher than Stars. Ain’t gonna happen
Let’s see how the season turns out. No need to go tribal just yet.

they laugh react any post i make with Stars over Phantom and have to quote everything I say.
We all have our “wishes” don’t we? One is no better than the other. I’m allowed to react be it a laughter emoji or a like emoji. Nothing earth shattering here. Take a deep breath.

Long time Regiment fan with this question: Did anyone hear the introduction to this year's show in the recent performance in the park? (and Likely throughout the season) It's so utterly dumb. They aren't the only corps have such cliché, intros that make zero sense. Anyone know who writes this stuff?
"The interplay between organisms..."
Whoa, yeah… long time Regiment fan. Methinks you aren’t being totally honest with that statement. Whatever.
Every corps has their schtick and who has cornered the navel gazing program description this year? Asking for s friend….who lives in So. Cal

Seen a run through from everyone in last year’s top 12 with the exception of Colts so far.
1. Bluecoats - what a drumline. Love the lean into weirdness with still being accessible. Great ballad.
2. Blue Devils - honestly, I think they’ll win, BUT, I love this show. Why is this a problem? They never seem to win when I love what they’re doing. 92, 06, 11, etc. etc.3. Carolina Crown - strongest design since 2016. Would not be shocked if Boston tops them. Drum writing is better this year - digging it.
4. Boston - killer guard. Don’t love the horn book or drum ramming. But the kids’ talent is undeniable.
5. Blue Stars - Unbelievable lush brass sound and a guard book that’s full of I-can’t-believe-they-just-did-that moments.
6. Phantom - love the music. Very Phantom while getting a modern upgrade. Muse is a great fit.
7. Cadets - great drumline. Visual book got a nice step up. Really enjoying what they have so far.
8. Mandarins - love seeing these guys on the rise!9. Troopers - a step up from 2022. They’re really gunning for it. Lots more demand in the visual program in terms of individual responsibilities this time around.
10. Cavaliers - tasty percussion writing. Very underwhelmed with what they’re doing considering the greatness of the source material. Still, a fun package with Easter eggs everywhere. Enjoyed it on first viewing quite a bit, just don’t see a high competitive ceiling11. Colts - haven’t seen it. Always love the red team. Looking forward to them this year.
12. No clue. This might be the single most interesting slot on finals night.Agree with most placements but I would switch
Boston & Crown
Blue Stars & Regiment

From what limited info I’ve seen, I think BD has the best package (theme and music). I’m intrigued by PRs theme and music selection though — if executed right, they could be a wildcard for top tier.
Not sure what to make of Crown and BAC yet. I’m not super excited for their themes, but I’ve changed my mind so many times over the years as they evolve their shows over the season.
What’s SCV or Bluecoats doing? I haven’t seen anything from them yet.
Hi NewArpege,
Unfortunately, SCV is not fielding a corps this year. There are other discussions on DCP as to why.

As a low brass player and fellow human being , I send my condolences to his family and his students…what a loss.

Funny! In 2018 I watched SCV and thought "this could have been a great Regiment show."
In all fairness this show reminds me of the slightly outside the box risk we took in 93. A lot of people were not fully onboard with what we premiered saying it wasn't their cup of tea but we won them over in the end. I can't wait to see what they put on the field to go with this.
Precisely Reggi93! It’s not easy to reinvent yourselves.

I spent my entire time getting ready for work this morning talking to my wife about how this show is bittersweet for me. I want them to be successful, but I know that means I have to give up the kind of show I love for what will be successful competitively. I may not like what is competitive these days, but I want the kids to have the incredible opportunity that is PR, and you can’t have an incredible opportunity if the corps no longer exists because it can’t compete. I believe this show will be very competitive, so I am very happy to know the corps is headed in the direction needed to continue operating into the future. But, I will miss what I loved about who they used to be, and will go through the growing pains to learn to love who they become.
Growth can be like that. He**, I’ve seen several evolutions of this organization some great, some not so good, but I always believed in them and their ability to reach their audiences.
This show is reaching a new audience and I think it’s a beautiful thing. Who knows, by the end of the season, they may be bringing us along on their emotional journey.- 1

Not your “Saurus’ drum corps but that’s a good thing! Can’t wait to see it on the field. Bravo and a SUTA to the 2023 edition of our phamily!

People might finally be inclined to acquiesce to the corps' requests for not recording or livestreaming the show. So far, I haven't heard the pre-recorded message requests tonight...
You’re there? I’m a bit jealous. Feel free to opine.

I can hum Elsa’s and a lot of last year’s show, if y’all want to dial in to my conference bridge at 7:00. Sutasaurus can do hand puppets on Twitch, and my wife can serve virtual cocktails for everyone. How’s that sound?
Sure. But no Joan. K?
so, what’s a Twitch? LOL

Maybe the live feed will be pictures of dinosaurs? I hope not but it would be a hoot!

1.) There will be 6 or 7 corps competing for 12th. Music City and Spirit will be in the hunt, BK and Crossmen will most definitely be pushing to get back in. Troopers and Colts will not go quiet into Semi Finals and Madison would like a word as well.
2.) Either Blue Stars or Mandarins will make their first top 5 appearance.
3.) Most corps over 90 at finals ever. Maybe even all top 12 corps will score over 90.
I think Regiment and Cavaliers have a better chance of making top 5 than the Mandarins.

You used to be able to find it on Periscope - is that app still around? Otherwise, someone posts it to youtube within hours.
Periscope HD is still available in Apple’s App Store, who uses it is another question.

Only a couple of hours until the concert. WooHoo!
