So this is surprising to me and I'm curious why so few returning ageout vs rookouts? I get COVID year but they still had a crown season so it seems weird that a destination group and not a stepping stone group has that much turn over. I'd lose track of how many people march Blue Stars and then go to Bluecoats (alot of old Bluecoats teched at stars atleast in my time) but then they age out at coats after a couple seasons.

From what I read, all but only a couple of Crown's percussionists were new to Crown this year. I imagine there were a lot of first year Crown ageouts in their percussion section.

Bloos design team continues to prove they are one of the best around. Taking a 500 year old poem and utilizing it such a modem way is so cool. I wasn’t a huge fan of this show at the beginning but like always they won me over by the end of the season.

While I don't disagree with you, it may be important to note that there are other units in the pageantry arts that have used it in the past ~5 years, including Paramount winterguard.

One thing I think people forget is to include the front.  Cavies front takes the cake now that SCV is gone.

The front I will concede, but the post I responded to only mentioned battery. When including front I think Cavies take it by a mile this year. Battery alone? I see them equal with one other this year that has a harder book.
