  1. hahaha. ahh. "chop suey"? interesting. care to explain if possible? :) one of my Cascades friends had us do "ball of fire" for character building before a performance. works for me.
  2. I would have to agree with bits and pieces of everyone. while warm-ups in the arc are great for me - I also use arban's on the side to work technique, tone, etc. it's basically whatever works for you as a trumpet player.
  3. bahhhh.... that sucks. my last high school year we're playing phantom 03. the past 3 years we played: SCV 99 (the canyon) & SCV (new era) + another piece; BD 98; BD 00. So... we'll have to see where this goes...
  4. From my perspective, it's exciting to have another addition of a corps hosting near home. Around Gainesville, FL we have people joining corps all over, from Cavaliers to Boston Crusaders to Carolina Crown. However, some corps are far away from home, like traveling to Illinois or California from Florida. From Plane Tickets to Tour $$$... the cost can rise. I'm not saying I wouldn't join a corps that's not in Florida just because of costs - because I'm interested in joining other corps around the country not native to my home state, and am willing to pay whatever it takes. What I am saying is that there are so many people in Alachua County that are amazing musicians. But never joined a corps because they had to stay near their college, or family, or whatever other reasons. Project Arts gives these people from around here at chance to experience Drum Corps. Therefore, I believe it's a good addition to DCI itself, and will allow many residents around Gainesville, Alachua, Ocala, etc. to benefit from its existence. In addition to everyone else that joins it from any other city as well, of course.
