Blue Stars look and sound great, can't wait for them to have an actual closer though.

As Im watching the rebroadcast of yesterday, the BS hornline blew me away. I can't remember them sounding this great.

Colts percussion is rockin'!
But it seems like the show isn't finished.
Show seems very consistent beginning to end but I feel like it lacks big moments. I need a "blow me away" moment and it didn't happen. I hope there is an addition. Show ended abruptly.

I'm watching the rebroadcast on Flo.
I really liked Genesis. They had an easier show than the corps prior to them but they looked and sounded better than those who went prior, including Academy.
Makes you wonder just how much show difficulty has an effect on score vs performance. Pity that they scored so low.
Also, is Flo going to broadcast the intermissions? I feel like they could just skip them. Maybe 5 min restroom break. No reason to have 100 minutes of intermission when I'm lying on my couch.

I, too, am unable to get the SA rebroadcast to work, and I don't think the problem is coming from my end. What a waste of money. I had to.work all day yesterday and was looking forward to seeing all the corps today on my day off.

What is the record for smallest gap between 1st and 5th on Finals night?

Nobody's show really had a "blow me away" moment.
I think the Bluecoats have the best show concept, easy to follow along, but brass was a little weak, there's a lot to clean, and visually it kind of decrescendo'd and left me wanting.
If they can clean this show, I think they can win. But Crown otherwise, and I dont even get their show.
My order would be
Bluecoats
Crown
BAC
SCV
BD
BStars
Cavs
BK

BD should ditch the screamer in those last few bars. Not working for me at all.
In fact, I don't think this BD brass is top 2.

I think the Blue Stars are a legitimately better corps than Cavs right now. But something somehow tells me Cavs will score .05 higher on Finals night. Just like SCV in 2010.

Golly, the Blue Stars have a 94-95/100 brass section, one of the best I've heard.

This kind of BD show feels like a 2nd place show most years. But there aren't any really obviously bangers of a show from anyone. It's an open field and maybe BD has a good early lead but it's going to be competitive.

I am not sure SCV is a top 3 corps this season.

Daaaaang, Mandarins....very strange show, dirty, even with an easier drill, but really love the energy.
Once this show is cleaned, people who don't get it, will get it.
For sure a top 12 program but can't say they should be higher than 10th.
Edit: forgot to mention the vocalist was pretty good. In no way am I a fan of singing in drum corps, but have to give it up for a great voice.

Wow did BS percussion just suddenly get better? That was like the only thing keeping them from jumping a spot or two. This is a huge deal.

Haven't posted in almost 3 years! Glad that drum corps is back!
I subscribed to flo marching so I've gotten to see some shows.
Remember that it is still early and corps will add more things to their show!
Having said that, even though I liked Crown, they started out by building my expectations to unreasonable levels and then slowly let me down until the end. I was kept waiting for the WOW moment but it didn't come. Right here right now, ok, but not yet! Keep waiting, it's coming, oh the show is over, it never happened. I feel bait and switched. Lol. But like I said, undoubtedly things will be added. Shows aren't done!
Can't wait to see the west coast corps.
Blue Stars performers are very good. Percussion needs work but they are otherwise clearly a better corps than Phantom. I just wish for once they would make a much more simple show without all the props.
Kevin Ford and Mike Shapiro are so talented at what they do, but I feel like their best work is still yet to come. I know they can design a whopper of a show and that one day the corps will compete for a medal again.
Ball State U has always been a great venue for drum corps.

So sorry. Another thing is that I have never been a fan of The Beatles. Have never liked their music, and every time I hear one of their songs on the radio, I immediately change the station.
I didn't hear much thunderous goo from the BD. I can appreciate that immensely.
Blue Stars were once again one of the most entertaining corps of the night. FCO!

I hadn't seen any performances before tonight.
Blue Devils did a fair amount of drill this show. More than Bluecoats.
However their brass didn't seem as strong as the corps around them.
I think it can go either way but I would give the BD the nod tonight. Sucks to say it because I have never rooted for the Blue Devils to win anything ever, period, but tonight I think they were the best corps.

I still can't believe that I've lowered my expectations for DCI so much that I have no choice but to root for the BD to win.

If one didn't know better, one might have thought this was the Blue Devils because the drill was just about non-existent.
I would have placed them below Crown and Vanguard.

Yeah I wouldn't mind that being the highest scoring 4th place show of all time, if that's how it ended up. Although Finis in 2008 was pretty good.
