  1. Several thanks go out to............... Dwight for flying all the way from PA to march Honor Guard. As always, we had a great time. See you in Rochester. Deb Peterson for loaning the Honor Guard rifles for the ladies that came just to watch. I created a spot in the Honor Guard for all three so they could march and have a great time. Gaye Lynn for coming back to march Honor Guard in the American Flag squad To Diane Bledsoe for bringing Ross and Michael who also marched Honor Guard. They learned how to march and use equipment in less than two hours and did a great job. In other words - we had a huge Honor Guard and I was never so proud as I was on Saturday. There were twelve of us. Jan and Garry - Chris had a blast taking care of Olivia - she is a cute as a button. And thanks to Earl's wife Ruth who helped Chris with Olivia. She is a true 'Gade! When it comes to drum corps, we are family first and the rest is incidental This is Batmom signing off!!!!!
  2. I can sympathize with you. I too had a misplaced Honor Guard member and her family as well as company employees. They all have finally been found them and they are safe as well as their homes. It is such an eerie feeling not knowing and then such an emotional relief to get word that they are safe. Thanks for the post and yes, drum corps is family. Corky Reynolds Honor Guard Captain S.F. Renegades Sr. Corps
  3. I am the Captain for the Renegades Honor Guard. I was standing around watching the shows waiting for our corps to arrive when I heard the news that a drum corps family member had gone down. I then heard that he had passed so my husband and I immediately went over to the corps members to console them. We hugged some of the Kiltie members for a while and let them know that we were there for them. I cannnot imagine the grief that they all must be feeling but knowing that he went doing what he loved best is a blessing. As I have always said in Drum Corps "we are family first ! and we take care of each other no matter what. On behalf of the the Renegades Honor Guard, our thoughts and prayers are with the Magnuson family and the Kilties family. Corky, Chris and Jon (Reynolds :(
  4. TchMuzk, Are you interested? That would be so great to have you join us for the big weekend. Who have you marched with? Just curious. Corky Reynolds Renegades Honor Guard Captain aka: Batmom
  5. The "EVIL" HG Captain (aka Batmom) says: Would love to have you all!!!!! Anymore takers????? Batmom
  6. Hey, Topsop! Since you don't identify yourself, who are you and who did you march with? Just curious. It's nice to see where other drum corps people marched.
  7. Breathe, topsop, breathe! This isn't an East-West thing. It's a drum corps thing no matter where you are. Granted the East Coast has more Sr corps, but the West is working very hard at getting more on the field. Give us some credit, won't you. 2002 we brought our show in, placed in the top 10, became a DCA member and then 2003, we brought one again, a show that was show stopper and without the penalty, woudld have taken 4th. No bad, wouldn't you say. This isn't a pissing contest, just an opinion topic. See you next year
  8. Hey, topsops! Did you not watch the Renegades? Isn't crabwalking, 200 beats per minute, fast enough for you? I think the Renegades show was the most unique and definitely not a "typical" drum corps show which brings a breath of fresh air to drum corps. There were so many tempo changes as well as difficulty in drill and music book, that they were the "corps" of the weekend to watch. Watch again, my friend.
  9. I am affiliated with a High School Marching Band in California and our bass drums, cymbals, snare drums, drum covers and accessories were stolen from a secured area. Marching band camp starts in two weeks and we are in need of persussion equipment. Is there anyone out there that has extra equipment that they are wanting to donate as a write-off? We lost 5 white Pearl bass drum, three snares, two sets of cymbals and a drum sticks and mallets. Your prompt reply would be most appreciated. Batmanmom from The Renagades Sr. Corps PS: If you have drums to donate, and are willing to help out a highly competative, award winning High School Marching Band, please email me at: celia.reynolds@blueshieldca.com Thanking you all in advance for your attention to this dilema.
