It was in yesterday and thankfully will never be seen again.
Really? Didn’t work well?

I heard that Mandarins changed their ending. (They hung their intruder) Any witnesses?

Some really cool music for PC. This is my favorite show of theirs in quite a while from a pure listening standpoint. The lighted triangle props showed up very well in person. A few times they use a quick-flickering effect that honestly makes me wonder if there’s any seizure risk involved. Their soloists were great but quite a bit over-amplified, IMO. Nice solid finish, PC!
So that's what they're supposed to look like!

Watching ESPN 30 for 30 on competition eaters and Joey Chestnut mentioned how his dad was a music teacher and they'd go to drum and bugle corps shows. They'd both eat a large pizza on those trips.
I heard his brother Paul marched BD in the early 2000s

So far I've seen:
Jeff Norris
Momma DCI
Nick Taylor
Hero Taylor

not sure how your rankings can place Crown over Bluecoats. they've met once and bluecoats beat them. then Bluecoats beat Cadets on Saturday by 4.55. sunday crown beat Cadets by just under 4 points. Based on head to head and most recent spreads against common corps Bluecoats should be at least .5 ahead of Crown
Your Algorithm makes no sense unless you are using relative spreads and not just latest scores cause scores vary based on the competition you see.
It would seem that transitivity is just one aspect of this algorithm. Current data is current data, and growth trends must be another. (I got your back hostrauser)

I understand he will be marching in SCV this summer.
I believe his sister aged out with vanguard last year .

Has anyone gotten to the end credits? All publishing rights and tresona licensing numbers are fully documented for every corps, every song. That's what we've been waiting for!

...and which is one of the reason some in CrownLAND are so anxious to return to what was becoming the status quo for guard.
Not doggin’ BAC for pilfering the talent, but unfortunately it’s put Crown at a competitive disadvantage the past couple seasons.
Yep when Michael Townsend and friends moved to Boston, a large portion of crownguard got on the stagecoach and became witches in Boston (including many soloists).
Whatever happened to Herbert Washington?

Their website says this one has been serving SCV for 26 years.
This is what I'm reading:

26 years would be this iteration of Miss Amana. The original Miss Amana was older (Serving Mr. Royer's Spaghetti recipe)

That would be a treat for the west coast! I don't think we've ever had Bloo come west. Cadets, yes. Phantom, yes. I'd love to see Crown, too. Fell in love with Crown when I saw them in 2007 at finals in Pasadena. Come on out, Bloo!
2009 Imagine show....

I love SCV's show but.... am also hoping that the no headwear trend does NOT catch on.
So agree...as opposed to 2017...Vanguard without aussies in 2018 just works...

This surfaced a few years ago after Sandy Hook and I’m surprised it did not surface after Parkland. People are sensitive to the reality of gun violence, and one corps did stop using rifles at one point.
Since my favorite years of drum corps fall between 1979-89, I appreciate good rifle maneuvering. This would have been about the time of great rifle lines, 27th, Phantom, Guardsmen, North Star, with Anaheim Kingsmen only a distant memory and Cavies strongest guard yet to come. We don’t have reliable videos of the time but BAC had a rifle line that packed a punch too. Because I am a traditionalist, I do not want to see rifles go.
Now, regarding rifles used today. We don’t try and get into political or religious debates on this site, I know. That being said, when I was a teacher, I taught in an inner city school in one of Boston’s most challenging areas, one that when it was in its glory was home of the St. Kevin’s Emerald Knights. I lost a student to random gun violence. I witnessed a murder on a subway train and testified in court as a witness for the prosecution. As a priest I have celebrated funerals of gang members and people who have died due to gang violence. I have opinions on gun laws, but I will say as someone with some experience here, spinning rifles on a drum corps field does not condone gun violence any more than hanging a soldier boy Christmas ornament does.
and wasn't it 78-81 that Mr. Royer had Vanguard spinning bedposts, flags and hulu hoops!

I have to bring up again the age issue.
How does DCI police the use of pre-recorded material that was recorded by someone outside the age range of DCI?
When a corps is using a pre-recorded vocal or horn part, how do we know the person recording it was of legal age to participate?
Now that's an interesting thought. As for prerecorded solos there is definitely corps that have had prerecorded solos...Heard from the directors mouth...Taking the guaranteed GE/music bump rather than risk the performance/achievement bump...and from the judges mouth..."we're not here to police performance but judge performance"
-
One simple question: When are they going to stop using last years drums?
-
I've seen 8 of the top 12 corps live.
1. The first time I saw SCV's props come apart! (mindblown...like 2016 bluecoats running out from behind the slides...or 2013 Carolina Crown dancing into the opener)
2. SCV's baritone duet during "My body is a cage" (Rick South...calling Rick South.... is this a reincarnation of your '79 duet?)
3. Bluecoats Vocalist (this isn't drum corps...BUT IT IS!!! IT IS!!!)
