I wonder what show would have suffered the most if they preformed unplugged on finals this year? this is my order - Bloo, BK, BD then Cadets.

I think in some small way many people here are making my point. we no longer see t-shirts protesting amplification and electronics we now debate the quality of it. The single biggest effect moment of the year would not have happened with out electronics.

So can we finally say Electronics is good for Drum Corps? I think the fans love of Bluecoats should put the argument to rest. People could not stand fast enough in Lucas Oil for the push of a button so I think this proves Electronics and amplification of the pit did not kill Drum Corps.

your making my point:-) very sad tonight is canceled the kids are really disapointed to miss out on this performance. all are safe and sound so that is the important part.

The crowd a one or two shows does not make a success. 1980 85 corps at finals, 1990 66 corps at finals,2000 68 corps at finals (31 in div 3),2010 39 corps at finals,2012 35 corps, when will it be ok to talk about doing something? when we have less than 20 corps? that might be 4 years away.

Agree, and that is why it is dying. with no organized activism or vision it will fade away

And that is just not enough. after 40 years I am sorry just providing a venue is not enough. I feel they should have a real plan to help start and maintain corps.

As awesome as both of them and others working for DCI are,they are not DCI. If you feel DCI is doing a good job growing drum corps and and its fan base and is looking out for all corps equally that is you opinion. My point is that DCI should after 40 years be able to at least support one drum corps per state and have more than 2 divisions.and if a corps is on tour and runs into trouble they should have the finance to support that corps.I strongly feel that Open Class is an after thought. Dan or any others that work for DCI are in a tough spot they are working for their bosses and have no real power.

DCI does not even respect or work to develop OC. hard for other to support something that the parent organization does not even support.
