  1. Don't forget to check out today's comic: Anatomy of a Marching Snareline
  2. Are we all in agreement that it was the Kilties in 1977 as being the last (besides Madison and Cavies)? If not, then post what you think it is. Thanks so much so far guys!
  3. I need some information for a project- who was the last all male corps besides Madison and The Cavaliers? Also, when was that corps' last year? Any information or points in the right direction would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!!
  4. Hi everyone, my latest comic is very drum corps oriented so I thought I would let you know about it. It is: Facts about Santa Clara Vanguard You Probably Did Not Know If you like it please share it with your friends. If you don't...then just pretend it never was. Also, for the next 4 weeks on Tuesdays will be a new drum corps related comic (other comic updates are on Thursdays), so please stop back to read those. Thanks for reading and sharing with your friends!!!
  5. As a music arranger it is not rare for band directors to ask me for shorter and shorter ballads each year. Some of which have completely eliminated them altogether from show design upon request. I'm with most everyone on here though- I do enjoy a good ballad, especially the 90's Cadets type ballads.
  6. Hi, I draw a music comic called Tone Deaf. Today's comic involves the Breathing Gym, and since I know that a lot of corps use it today I figured that you all might find it interesting (I used it when I taught Blue Knights mellos). Either way, here is the comic: Great Moments in Breathing Gym History Enjoy! If you like it please feel free to share it with your friends or sign up to get Tone Deaf sent to your email. Thanks!
  7. Here is an article about the process of music arranging. I would love to see what everybody else does so if you have a certain way you do I'd love to see it! Thanks! http://www.johnmusic.com/tonedeaf/blog/cre...d-from-scratch/
  8. Just added the corps that had competed at one point or another in quarterfinals but did not make finals at any point in the 2000's. Not to bag on any corps- again, just wanted to see how many corps there were, and also a nice trip down memory lane. Thanks!
  9. This may have already been done, but I thought it would be neat to see who made finals in the 2000's and also what their average placements would have been overall. Check out what the stats were: Drum Corps Placements for the 2000's Thanks for reading!
  10. Hello everyone, I just wanted to invite you to check out Matter of Fact, a webcomic with music-related strips. Go here to check it out: Matter of Fact Tell your friends about it. Thanks. John Bogenschutz Matter of Fact
