  1. Right...cause who would want to invest in kids.

Don't be delusional. It's a trait in our activity. Although a Nobel cause when looking for money investing in kids isn't the tactic you want to use. Especially in these days and major corporations going under, I can tell you 1st had the same with non profits is happening. If you think you have a good cause there are 10 other causes down the block all worthy..I have to agree unfortunately with the other poster on this But hey good luck ya never know.

  2. ? Are you saying that she only cut WGI people and only WGI people were bad? I'm not following the train of thought here...

A Joke...lol...................But my point was that with stuff she had to say to some of those dancers I wonder what she really thinks of even the best in our activity.

  3. News Flash

Mia cuts all of WGI because she likes to see people go home who arent't good at what they do( Just in her opinion )

WOW !!!! WGI must be paying her pretty well to be nice.

I guess she didnt make it as a dancer herself.............so bitter party of 1

  4. This just in (from Robby himself!)

<<Although we will not have 3 guards next year (I think we'd go insane!) we will not be folding either. NEi has no intention of folding anytime soon and we're looking forward to the upcoming season. Rivercity Ind. will also be out and competiting in IO, as of now. We're hoping to host a clinic in the Orlando area, as we have for many years, but we're still working out facilities and logistics, etc. I'm sure we'll advertise on our website soon.>>

Always good to hear from the horses mouth

  5. I am sure they will. After being with Michael for 4 years... but its her decision!

but they are also talking USF . so who knows. still early...

My response was NEI continuing.. along with RCI

Dont know how true it is but i hear ( Out of their camp ) that they may not come out either

  6. My daughter is friends with a few of their members, and she has been talking to them about her and a few others , (that originally wanted to go to Knights), about auditioning for NEI. and that they were also holding a "spin fest" type of day in the Orlando area during the summer as well as auditions in the fall.

What she says is everything is still a GO!! so lets hope so.

I will check with her again soon!

ooooooooooooooooo I'm sure they will find it alot different there. I'll leave it at that ....lol

  7. I think we drifted from the original subject about World Guards....from yet another A guard forming to making flags( although a helpful topic )....lol...well best of luck on both subjects................anyone else know of anyworld guards folding or returning?

  8. HOW MUCH MORE THOUGHT OUT DO YOU WANT IT..IT WAS CLEAR I THINK. 1 posting also doesnt make it a

" all that dissing ' you are also very entitled to like them as people who dont are. i vaguely remember strong likes or dislikes from you in other seasons.

no debate needed,,, I will do that with friends who judged ..but thank you

  9. Diamante set no standards as all of their tricks came from Corona in years past. Speak with members on Corona, all those tricks corona has done. Not saying Diamante didn't do them well, those standards have been set from Crown guard and Corona as far back at 2002, they always have the best book

NEi has brought the level of acting to the activity. I truely believe their show was not a BIG arena show. It was more personal and intimate and their acting and performance was the best out there that weekend. Everything they did had a beginning, middle, and end and it was just amazing. Plus being the only world guard to nail a 7 on sabre, and Fahrenheit being the only ensemble world guard to nail a rifle 7 its pretty impressive.

Corona, and Nei set new standards

and Aimachis boys from Pride never danced that good in Pride they got amazing!!

    Amen Sista !!!!

except Diamante..................."THEY DIDN'Y DO THEM WELL"

  10. I agree with the post above that I saw a lot of INCREDIBLE shows in Finals this year. Sooooooo many amazing performances out there - wow.

But in terms of "setting standards, I'd have to give props to Diamante. They showed us lots of new way to use equipment this year.

Their tandem rifle work is the best example of that.

One particular section of move that sticks in my head is the passage wherein a guy tosses a 6 or a 7 and a girl LEAPS into his arms and makes the catch.

They incorporated several moves like this into their show VERY successfully.

    OMG....ARE YOU KIDDIN ME

  11. It happens you know, good guards sometimes don't make finals. We missed it by .5. I was upset at first but you just have to realize that for that one show there were people who had better shows. And to discuss alter ego, I think anyone who saw them should be questioning more why they got 21st in equipment then why they were in finals! Alter Ego has impeccable technique and they perform it amazingly. They were an extremely memorable guard for me and I am glad they moved up in finals, very much deserved!!!!

Also, I could understand how someone would say that SCV seemed to have a way easier book because they made it look so easy. They may not have had as many tricks or huge tosses but their choreography(key word, it's not just about tosses) was very challenging. Their flag book alone made my mouth drop! In Mia's class on Sunday she talked about how you don't need to do crazy tricks to win a dance competition and I immediately thought of SCV, they showed they were amazing in a different way. Some may not like that different way, but I am glad WGI appreciated it!

    Interesting:

    agree..SCV.......loved them...standard setting

Alter Ego...liked the show.....could they possibibly toss anymore,,,,,,ughhhhhh

your comment on Mia.........it's not a dance competition :worthy:

  12. I am at a loss for words. Why did Fahrenheit World not make finals? I would have had them in 10th. Their prelims show was so emotional, strong, powerful, clean, and they proved they wanted to be on that floor Saturday night. I was horrified to see Sacred Heart out there with that A class show. WGI has lost their minds. Also Warren Central was better than Flanagan and Logan. Notice how Aimachi jumped up to 3rd in finals. Nei lost a medal, hmmmmmmmmm something sounds fishy. And Alter Ego even being in finals? They got 21st in equipment in prelims, this activity was started by flags rifles and sabres, they were 21st in equipment yet place in finals?

I am so confused with WGI.....did anyone else catch Fahrenheits Amazing prelims performance?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. I COULDN.T AGREE MORE. IMO..they are a class act and deserved to be in finals...........and I don't mean 15th...

  13. There should be NO affiliation.

    From the WGI manual...

    JUDGES CODE OF ETHICS

AFFILIATION: A WGI judge must disclose any affiliation with any unit based on the following definitions:

PRIMARY AFFILIATION: Designer, instructor, or management of the competing unit. A judge with a

primary affiliation may not adjudicate the class where their affiliation exists.

SECONDARY AFFILIATION: Any judge who receives compensation from the school, and/or sponsoring

organization and any related organization that sponsors or supports the competing unit i.e. an individual

who teaches in the school or who might teach or provide other services for the sponsoring organization.

Also, any judge who through family, spouse or significant other who has a primary affiliation as described

above. These affiliations will be reviewed on a case by case basis. A judge with a secondary affiliation may

judge in their affiliated class as long as the unit they are affiliated with is not competing at that contest.

Individuals may not judge for WGI if they are still performing in any color guard.

CHIEF JUDGES may not have any primary affiliations. Members of the Color Guard Advisory Board who

are also active WGI judges are not eligible to run for positions on the Steering Committee. This would

constitute a conflict of interest in dealing with both judge and instructor issues.

CONSULTATIONS: A current WGI Judge is not permitted to give any consultation to any color guard.

CONDUCT: No judge may display interest or preference toward any competing guard they may judge.

Wearing a unit's insignia is forbidden. Judges are encouraged to give input regarding the ethical

standards of the judging community. This should be handled through the Chief Judge.

If this in fact is true then there has been a blatant disregard for the rule by a well known established Judge...Im sure " HE " says he's secondary " Although to talk to him he's the reason for the huge success, which then will make it ok I guess..OOOOO That fine line WGI walks to allow a loop hole in.

  14. I have asked the same question to a couple of WGI contest cordinator and was told "so long as the group they work with is not competing at the regional, in the class they are judging then it is fine.

That's funny because I asked also and was told there should be NO affiliation...HMMMMMMM is this another WGI double standard....seems so !!!!!!
