for real. i saw the hornline warm up for an alumni corps show in bayonne last weekend and they were surprisingly loud and with a rich dark tone. wasn't expecting it at all. and at that the brass staff was not one bit satisfied - i think i heard one of 'em say "ok, you can play a forte!" all sarcastic-like. i think they're serious this year.
