And yet he was spotted at some shows AFTER the letter from DCI telling him to stay away.
who spotted him? where? all I saw was him commenting on show with some picture you can easily find online - and everyone jumps to the conclusion "he was there"
I don't believe he was at any shows in 19/21/22

Sadly that romantic view of the "Golden State" is no longer our reality. A dystopian show on exploding homeless population, increasing crime, feces laden streets, awful schools, and high taxes would be more accurate but unentertaining.
sounds like a GE dud lol

It would definitely be a "shake-up" but I won't be surprised to see GH return to the activity as a "consultant" for an OC Corps. If not 2023, definitely by 2024.
he's banned - so it's not happening & stop talking about him, put him in the review mirror and don't look back

Wiles to Cadets Guard Head would make me pretty darn happy and also bridge the Avon girls to the guard.
literally couldn't BEG to get/retain decent numbers in guard at Cavaliers, finished 9th in GE, 9th in VA and 10th in Guard yet he's the answer? Strange take.

Bloo has won before; for Boston it would be the first time.
oh yes, I see, to be a first-time winner they're clearly in the best position. Not really anyone close to winning that hasn't.

I was going to say "corpsband." Which led to me looking at some of his last posts in the Boston 2017 thread. So salty about the Crown design staff exodus, and about life in general, it seems. What a fun trip down memory lane...
And to stay somewhat on track... I really miss Jamey Thompson's writing.
I mean, none of it was handled very professionally so...

Boston remains the Corps in the best position to win DCI for the first time.
how so? I would think Bloo given the back-to-back 2nds?

I don't see many changes (if any) in the top six, it'll be interesting to see if Boston can replicate their 2022 success & if Bloo can carry their last month's momentum into the offseason they maybe give BD more of a challenge?
In the middle of the finalist pack a more veteran Cadets corps will have to improve a bunch just to fight off Cavaliers and Blue Stars, Phantom Regiment > I guess they'll do it, but it won't be easy as all 3 may improve
Rounding out the top 12 - Troopers will need to improve their execution (particularly in brass & guard) in order to remain a finalist. They can't rely on extremely weak programming from both Blue Knights (best chance to return to finals IMO) and Crossmen (hopefully some changes there, I'm really not a fan of this version)
Also I predict (hope) that we'll see both Seattle Cascades AND Spirit return to Indy in 2023.

I quickly counted from a video - 7,000 made it in, the other 21,000 gave up in line and went back to the hotel.

Take a look at Crown to see what 2 extra years of overthinking one design does. Winning a championship isn’t easy, period
never said it was - Blue Devils MAKE it look easy.

How much money can we really be talking about? And is that money really worth it? We’re talking 90+ years of history/tradition.

Is there an official source to match your certainty?
Others here (Jeff Ream) have stated DCI has stated as much, I don't know his source. I feel that it is not as difficult designing, teaching 3 years of championship shows in 5 years as it is in 3. It's certainly still difficult, but it absolutely is not the same and provides additional time for planning, designing, recruiting, dreaming up ideas etc. If you feel like it's the same, that's fine.

And for the record, I spent my time today celebrating with my son, welcoming him home from a fantastic first DCI year with Gold. So proud of him.
That’s awesome, that corps is on a great roll - hope he had a great season!

Yes, it would. Three consecutive wins in three consecutive COMPETITIVE seasons IS a threepeat. Last year was exhibition only and we didn't HAVE 2020.
Nope. Three consecutive years is a three peat, not three wins in five years

I’ve been to rock concerts, MLB playoff games, college football games with over 100,000 people in attendance and I have never seen anything like I saw Saturday night. It’s a miracle that violence didn’t break out with people on edge. I’m sure the All-access pass people didn’t have to tolerate that nonsense. Just the people who paid $700+.
Jim went up to get a water and someone with a lanyard tried to sit in his seat. I said that’s my husband’s seat. “When is he coming back.” WTF is wrong with these people? I don’t have to give you a ####### schedule.
I had the same issue at the Annapolis, MD show. And the guy w/ a lanyard was very pushy trying to sit in my friends seat (you know, the expensive ones which I PAID FOR) he was trying to push past me to take the seat after I said no, it's taken - I literally had to stand up face to face with the dude and say "it's not available, go steal someone else's seat, because you're not stealing this one" in a very firm manner.

SRSLY, age old complaint about work ethic LOLOL
Oh yeah - that's all it is. Literally everyone in the business world is having the same experiences as my organization but it's just in my imagination. You recruit - pay more than ever - hire someone, they accept your job offer, you confirm them the day prior to their start date, and then they don't show up! Over and over and over. Pretty sure LOS is experiencing the same thing

Look, I have no insider knowledge of the Cavies, SCV, or Crown. It just seems to me to be logical and look back on some corps' decisions in 2021 to not put forth a serious show....I just think it is possible that there are some chickens coming home to roost.
I agree.

At the DCI West family BBQ this year, the staff mentioned that of the 160+ members, over a 100 of them were from California. I’d think that if BD were as much of a destination corps as much as people believe they are, they’d have a much higher number of out-of-staters.
I mean California is massive - size and population - so 100 from a massive state and 60 from all the top programs in the USA

I only said that because they were introduced at each show (except this week) as the reigning champions. If that is how they were selling them, then a win in 2023 would be 3. Doesn’t really matter to me. What DOES matter is that i ordered Indy tix for 2023, so I don’t care what we call it, but i REALLY want a win.
understand - it's just interesting this "3 peat" thing keeps popping up

I have been lobbying for it since 2015. Going to keep pitching it..............BD needs to give us a show with all Gordon Goodwin music, and absolutely reduce Lucas Oil Stadium to rubble with those jazzy jam sessions.
that would be amazing.

Will a more experienced, seasoned group keep the Ott, take the Zingali and Sanford, and finally 3-peat? Your thoughts?
it wouldn't really be a 3-peat
