They have GOT to start cleaning this monster of a show
BD will be spotless, so will Cadets.

Go Bluuuuuuuuuuuue lets see what you've clean and added on your 3 days off
With Blue Stars, Bluecoats, Blue Devils & Blue Knights should I assume you're talking about Bluecoats??? :-)
A lot of BLUE hahaha
-
and you couldn't have posted this in any of the other TEN negative threads on DCP about the "state of the activity right now"
what a negative and grumpy bunch!

two horn holes haven't helped "intervals" but eh - the need to restage the ballad

That's what I was thinking. DCP is a lot of things but shills for BD isn't one of them.
I would "suggest" that DCP is rather reflective of the overall drum corps fan base in that regard
Rarely does BD get a great cheer from any drum corps crowd in any stadium. The "normal fan" seems pretty bored by their shows, pretty frustrated with the way they are scored
I'm a more serious, long-term fan - and I get their execution. The GE scores still confound me at times
It's not just "DCP" feeling this way. Even at finals in 2010 almost the entire crowd left the stadium before their victory encore
THAT speaks volumes.

Yeah - don't count them out. 2 points is nothing
They still need to make more changes to the program - the right alterations to the ballad and guard staging would really help
Crown is in a stronger position - clean, clean, clean that program and we'd have a new champion! Which would be very exciting - seems like "yesterday" I saw that "new little corps" from the Carolinas at Allentown. Loved that first year program! And stormworks quite a bit later - such an early "wake up call" for the rest of the activity :)
BD is TOUGH, but they may max out. Lord knows they will be spotless come finals.

BD will win - everyone else in run for 2nd

Cadets are getting better QUICKLY:
-
Wow - in the middle of a GREAT season and THIS is what folks want to talk about??!!
So negative.

um - this is a video from the run THE NIGHT they learned 56 pages of this... Don't you think it is a little too soon to "Decide" anything - considering they will obviously tweak this a great deal?
a lot of overreacting going on to a leaked rehearsal vid.
-
i'm pretty sure this is just the ensemble from the night they taught them the 56 pages of new/altered drill & music
probably a lot more changes and layering to come - I'm sure they were excited to just get it on the field as fast as they did!
-
look pretty accurate to me / we'll obviously find out a lot more this weekend :)
-
loving the changes!!!

no offense George....but fans are also just scraping by aswell. ya know that economy thing we keep hearing about.
So yes, blast those that may have difficulties or the lack of connections to scam YEA out of freebies for not doing their part. I guess their rent/mortgage/food bill may be more important. selfish ###### aren't they?
No one is "blasting" anyone :)
Just saying if the price is too expensive for you don't attend. It is called "Free market" and if the sponsors feel too many folks are passing they will lower prices int the future. It is really that simple
With all the difficulties getting this organizations down the road I WANT them to charge as MUCH as the market will bear, so they can stay afloat!
JMO I guess, my chief concern is member experience.

I saw severalpictures of Chambersburg, and I saw lots of empties. I know you're refering to Jackson, but I'm not.
Well I was there
It was sold out from end to end except the field level seats at the very bottom where I don't think they were selling people since you couldn't see over the chain link fence. There were some scattered "no shows" due to t-storms all day but it was as near a "sell out" as you can get
If ticket prices kept some folks away it certainly didn't hurt the show attendance overall - it was packed!
Great crowd and GREAT time!!
-
I hear that changes are pretty fantastic!! Can't wait to see it Saturday!
where - from Hop's FB page? or someone more objective?
-
that's all fine and good but they REALLY need to fix the ballad
agreed the transition from ballad to "closer" was clunky - but the ballad has to be restaged to max this program come finals....

I hate when people argue about prices... if YOU think it is "too expensive" then DON'T GO
Especially silly of an argument when both venues were PACKED.
Corps organizations are literally "scraping by" and us "fans" are complaining the ticket prices are too high??!!! What the heck.

Driving toward DC so I'm out!
-
sorry for delay / walked back to my car
Cadets gave a solid performance
Opener is strong point
Middle tunes tighetened up and improved
Percussion is a significant strength over Crown
Cadets will need to restage the ballad / push toward audience / lose the slides and get the guard in white / to trim the GE gaps in music and visual that have opened up
Pushed toward audience that tune could be an imcredible music moment ala Hymnsong
Closer seems short and ragged / like a temp fix
Overal very talented and well performing corps with a nice program
-
Crown killed it
Drums are the weakest link / if it comes down to BD/Caders and them that will be the decider
They will need to spread enough in brass and GE
That seems doable with some tweeks to the middle of the program and cleaner feet
Nice job Crown!

crown unis look a lot better in person
Nice welcoming ovation from the crowd
-
great sound out of crossmen
Selling the program well and they still have a month of the season left to go
Reeks of a finalist program
Nice job!
Here comes crown!

If you slow it down to 1/5th the speed and play the music backwards it is actually BD's show set for set, note for note. Plays a real trick on one's mind sped up and played backwards.
