  1. CrownSopJordan: Great display of individual marching technique. Gotta love west coast marching. ^aimed at Pacific Crest
  2. Honestly, I can see how you'd think that. It does seem like he wants to be apart of the Cadets, doesn't it? I don't think we're taking it too personally at all. In fact, I believe that it's the other way around. Though I can't stand a few of the corps traditions, I don't go around telling stories about them to make myself feel better. Instead, I try to be open minded about every show. Most of the shows are very creative this year, and even the ones that aren't are still very good. But, a show about weed... really? Come on, now.
  3. I agree! Their brass sound makes me melt.. haha XD Come on, Crown. Let's be in the top 3!
  4. I agree. Though I have always enjoyed DCI (at least I have for the few years I have known about it) I have never gotten so wrapped up in the competition. This season is absolutely incredible! I don't even care who wins anymore, the scores are so close. Of course I favor Crown, but man. I'm so proud of their performance that I hardly care where they place. However, tonight's score was a very pleasant surprise, I admit. It was kinda like a sneak attack.
  5. I agree. All of these kids work their butts off and I'd hate to be the one to pick and choose. They're all great this year. I've never been so excited for DCI--I think I'm hooked.
  6. Wow, no wonder you thought Cadets should have won. It's the only show you pay attention to, heh. I'm not meaning to be rude, I'm just trying to point out that maybe you should try watching all the shows more carefully before stating a specific corps should have claimed the win. However, you are right when you mention the "sinister concept". Their show is built on fantasy. If you actually watch the colorguard's main character, you'll notice him journeying from one side of the field to the other. Periodically, he chases after another main character, a girl he cannot quite get a hold of. Many obstacles get in his way, the brass, percussion, etc. They are supposed to be like fantasy creatures, that's why they keep climbing all over each other making funny shapes. The whole thing is kind of like a dream, until he wakes up at the very end to find himself exactly where he started. The show is titled "The Grass is Always Greener," but it doesn't necissarily say "..on the other side." I think it's very interesting, myself. I love this stuff.
  7. Personally, I favor Crown because of their brass. I always find their sound impressive. The Cavaliers just don't hit me emotionally at all, and I find their show a little boring because of it. Some people keep mentioning that the Cadets should have won because they were the audience favorite, but all I can think to say is, "Um, duuh?!" The show was performed in their home state, and I would think a lot of people would be favoring them because of that. I know I still feel the need to cheer on SCV (another awesome show, but the way), though Crown is my number one corps, but maybe I'm just weird? If the show had been performed in a different area, I'm almost 100% positive the audience reaction would have been different.
