  1. Solosits from 75 Scouts were Chris Metzger, I think, and Dave Tippett, and two others. North Star sop was Jerry Noonan, Bridgemen had Jim Brady, and BD had a certain sop in 1980 called Larry Dalstrup. Jeff Kveit was in Muchachos in the early 70's.........:) Al Chez had some HIGH notes in 82 Cadets...........:)
  2. You gotta read, I said they DON'T MARCH ANYWHERE ELSE............
  3. I respect your opinion on that. Should 83 Cadets be considered a groundbreaking type show?
  4. I think "ringchasing" has hurt drum corps. The reason is that if someone wants to join BD or Cavies, and they don't make it, a LOT of the time they don't MARCH AT ALL. That doesn't help the other corps or the activity.........
  5. Many years! I am referring to shows that everyone talks about. 83 Cadets is one of those shows too. 2000 Cadets is crazy good, NO WAY Cavies should have tied them, NO WAY!
  6. Bottom line, brass is a dog-eat-dog world. If Jupiter is not able to make a quality horn, and the brass scores suffer because of it, whether they are Blue Stars or Phantom or anyone, they will drop them. Jupiter is new to the Blue Stars this year, but I know corps management did their due diligence before making the change..........:)
  7. MOST if not all top tier drum corps treat their members well. The REASON they win so much is the BEST talent auditions there, consistently, year after year. More ringchasers at BD, Cadets, and Cavies than all the other corps combined........
  8. If I could only pick ONE show, 2000 Cadets, it was 10 years ahead of its time...........:)
  9. Time for me to run, do they take write-in candidates? :)
  10. I used to have a couple girlfriends that dressed like that all the time, and they made faces like that too..........:)
  11. Part of me doesn't mind the attention the Blue Stars are getting. They seem poised to be the next top 5 or 6 corps out there. However, when idiots make comments on how much "so and so's brass sucks", etc, it is amusing and times irritating. Anybody remeber the 70's and 80's? Pretty much ALL the bugles sucked for quality, but they were loud. It comes down to the MUSICIAN, not the instrument. Maybe we should SEE how the brass scores are this season before starting to beat the drum "of I told you so". And also, although brassEXPERT makes some good points, NONE of hat he/she says can be validated, and EVERYONE is an EXPERT on the Internet...........
  12. Seems like most folks on here have the Blue Stars staying around where they have been the last couple years, and not moving up. I firmly believe they will take no lower than 6th this year coming up...................
