  10. The guard coming out of the southern tier is Luminosa Independent Winterguard. They will be accepting members for the IA class and competing in the 2011 WGI Championships. Tryouts will be on September 25th 2010. Look for updates on facebook for Luminosa or email Niko91011@hotmail.com :)
  11. Just to put this out there, Jamestown IA guard is moving to SA. It was an instructional decison to move to SA after a great showing at WGI this year in IA. We feel with the age and talent of our students, more growth and potential can be achieved in this class. With that said, a new Independent A winterguard will be coming out in the Southern Tier/Western NY region that is funded by the New Jamestown Bingo Hall in Western NY, completely seperated from the Jamestown Winterguard Program. There is a lot of talent around the Western NY area and we believe with the instructional staff already picked, this is one show that will keep everyone talking. Anyone who is interested in trying out for this IA guard please feel free to contact us by email at Niko91011@hotmail.com. Also, anyone interested in becoming part of the Jamestown instructional staff please feel free to contact the email above as well. We are looking for deisgners and techs that could add strength to our growing program. Jamestown came back in the 2000's with a group of about 8-10 kids, and has grown in 10 yrs to 3 guards with about 70-80 kids total. We look forward to continue growth and advance in WGI. Right now in the talks for IA.... *Name - TBD *Almost everything has been donated (floor, equipment, etc.) so, the talk about dues right now is minimal (around $600-$700) *Practices - weekends. *You can work so many hours at the Bingo Hall to work off what is owed to march, plus fundraise. *Show Concept - obviously a secret but it will be on the exciting/modern/dark upbeat side of guard *Try-outs - information to come (likely near end of sept 2010), facebook page will be made for info as well. With members already taking interest in local colleges in the southern tier/buffalo, we expect a huge turnout! We hope to see you there for the experience of a life time... Sincerely, Nick Boucounis (Niko91011@hotmail.com)

  13. In any event with scoring....its just 5 peoples opinion. Anyone kid or adult that can get infront of a crowd and perform is a hero to me. Not an easy thing to do. Congrats to everyone this year thus far. Whether it be politics, grumpy instructors, mean kids, stupid judges......doesnt matter. If the guards/percussion do the best they can that is all that matters. We have all seen upsets that cant be explained, just assumptions. Just like everyday life, when your known your expected to to great things, when your unknown, you have to try just as hard to get there. Everyone has been there and someday the tables will turn. But just have fun, because someday you will not be able to do this anymore. Good Luck!
  14. I hope it does too. Off topic.....anyone see that Univ of Alabama was moved to IW??? What happened there? Any input
  15. This guard, express had two identical performances at Rochester. Unfortunately you will only see finals. If another guard is to pass them because the did not do their best in Prelims that is fine...but to not be consistent in scores when the students were consistent in performance?? Shame on WGI.
  16. I definetly agree with everything hear. And seeing some shows on the fan network and in person, these Rochester Scores were very very low. Maybe the judges didnt look at what sheets people were on LOL. Anyways, I think the Northeast will bounce back, there were many great guards in the top of A, IA, IO, SW and IW that I believe got screwed big time, but they are fighters and will show everyone how great they really are :)
  17. Everyone is sleeping after a hard working weekend :-)
