    Why Applaud in the Theater?

    I re-skimmed this thread and I don't think this point was posted:

    We applaud/cheer at movies and at DCI Cinecasts probably for the same reason many of us post "shout outs" to our favorite Corps on DCP show threads. I guess anyone actually at the venue and posting on DCP could relay that "CrownBariDad said 'GO CROWN!'", but probably not gonna happen. I just think it helps those of us following the show (or watching it in a theater) somehow connect with the event when we can't be there. We also connect with those on the thread (or in the theater), too.

    And maybe...just maybe...the Drum Corps gods will smile upon our efforts and help our chosen Corps in their quest for success. Again--probably not, but who knows?

    Greetings from Sioux Falls! I am at the show already (I'm volunteering and they put me with the judges tonight...Heaven help me) and it should be a beautiful, but slightly windy night for Drum Corps. Pioneer will not be at the show tonight :( if I heard correctly they had a sponsorship conflict, whatever that means. I will attempt to either post here or tweet some thoughts (@JordanLuckyR) but no guarantees because I am technically supposed to be working the show. I also have my camera with me so I'll try and get pictures and post them later tonight. Looking forward to a great show!

    Sorry to hear about Pioneer.

    Anything you can do to send some of the show our way will be GREATLY appreciated by us "stay at homes".
