I find most of this years ballads kind of dull and void of the kind of emotion I would like to see. Even Crown's rendition of Nimrod ( which is a beautiful piece ) I feel there isn't enough emotion in how they are playing it, or perhaps the fault is due to the Arrangement. Granted I saw the show live in Akron so this may have changed since then...

to a degree, but the cadences are aren't even similar in Cavaliers Gavorkna

It wasn't really Gavorkna Fanfare... If you listen to it the cavaliers completely changed the chord structure and even some of the rhytmns. Not that they didn't perform the crap out of it.. just saying that they took imo to many liberties with the piece and if i were the composer I would have been angry... When I heard crown I really felt that their sound was a bit on the edgy side especially in the ballad.. Idk why everyone is all about their sound to be honest. Don't get my wrong I love crown but i dont know about this year.
