Along with the neckerchiefs, I had thought it might have been a nod to scouting which turns 100 this year. At any rate, thanks for giving the corps members a great season. You certainly won the hearts of your audiences. Don Bennett

With the help of my 11 year old son, I present our combined list. I figure that entertainment should be cross generational. 1. Madison - Unchallenged hands down fav Tie 2. Crown - Lots of WOW - especially liked the brass horn line 2. Phantom - More WOW - enough said 3. Cadets - expected to not like them at all based on previous years, but they did well. 4. Troopers - What 11 year old couldn't vote for the Troopers 5. Cavies - recognized the songs - but confused at times with their show 6. Blue Devils - 11 year old put these guys at #24. Parental overrule explaining that BD is really wearing clothes only the Emperor can see, but one day, we'll be able to see them too. 7. Teal Sound - Despite dismal scores, these guys used electronics well and my 11 year old kept comparing them to blue man group and Trans Siberian Orchestra. Rest a blur... db

I'm so glad this poll is on the forum. I've been to many competitions over the summer and have heard much of what this poll shows from audiences. While the Scouts have often been hands on favs for entertainment - there has also been a good bit of appreciation for innovation from corps like BD for sure. I think it is helpful to analyze corps in different ways. For example, if you average the daily increase of scores from July 1st to now, you'll discover that only one corps has gotten a bigger score increase than BD all year. Another way of looking at this is to consider that if there was a DCI show every night from now into the future with the same daily average increase, only Academy would/could beat BD and that wouldn't happen until April 3rd, 2011.
