The world has a brand new sound – The Aluphone. Made of cast aluminum, the sounds of a vibraphone, tubular bells and singing bowls come together in beautiful harmony, as Aluphone. The Aluphone ranges over an amazing wealth of sounds and tones. If you use soft mallets to play it, you get an almost Asian, meditative sound reminiscent of Japanese temple bells. Medium-hard mallets produce a crystal-clear sound similar to that of a vibraphone. And if you use hard mallets, the Aluphone produces a strong, harmonic bell sound. The instrument does not use electric or acoustic amplification, yet can still generate both very soft and very powerful sounds. The Aluphone is being featured on the WGI Circuit through Matrix Percussion Ensemble and will be used by Santa Clara Vanguard and the Glassmen during the 2012 Drum Corps International season. Details are yet to be released. I can tell you that we are developing in conjunction with some very credible brass design/manufacturing specialists who have been in the industry for a long time. The focus is forward facing, silver plate marching brass and we are on our second round of development/prototype instruments. There is a high chance that at least one competitive group will be using them in competition in 2012. Roger

Hi All, Premier is back in the US :) Some facts: Marching USA is the sole importer of Premier educational, marching and concert/orchestral instruments into the US and Canada. The drumset distributor will be announced at NAMM. Marching USA is based in Fort Worth, Texas :) and has a 10,000 sq ft warehouse and demo area. Due to historical spare parts and service challenges, the first container received by Marching USA included over $25k of spare parts predominantly for the Revolution range of drums, therefore all spares are available now and in the US. Premier has a full range of battery and pit products including Vibraphone. Our next show will be TMEA, where we will be exhibiting battery products with various premium/chrome finishes, keyboards including marimba, vibe and xylo and a 36" free floating shell concert bass drum - its a beast. Marching USA also offers a full range of very strong, heavy guage steel field frames, they have a 3 year warranty and are manufactured in Texas to our specification. FYI all Premier field keyboards are supplied on Marching USA frames. The weight of the Revolution snare is 15.8 lb Premier percussion will be seen on the field in competition in 2012 in both DCI and DCA circuits. Hi Gary, The Marathon head was Premier developed and manufactured, it was made of Melinex (same as Myler) with a reinforcing "pad" of Melinex in the centre bonded on the underside. ooo's of these heads were sold in the US . It was extremely strong and had a fantastic sound.
