Good Day All! We are currently planning a trip from Southeastern New England to Allentown, Pennsylvania to watch the DCI Eastern Classic. The trip includes round trip transportation, overnight accommodations, breakfast, visit to the Las Vegas Sands Resort and Casino in Bethlehem, stop at the USS Intrepid Air and Space Museum in New York City, and tickets to both the Friday and Saturday DCI Eastern Classic Regional Championships competition. We are currently putting together an mailing list to keep patrons informed about when tickets will start to go on sale and to ensure we have more than enough seats/buses for those looking to leave for one of DCI's Greatest Competitions. Get the chance to watch all 24 world class corps on their final big tune up prior to world championships in Indianapolis! Winner Receives: 2 Tickets to DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, PA (Friday, August 5th) 2 Tickets to DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, PA (Saturday, August 6th) Round Trip Airfare to Lehigh Valley International Airport 2 Nights Stay at Comfort Inn Suites Day Pass to Dorney Park in Allentown Gift Certificate to Outback Steakhouse, Allentown Single Tickets are $2 and 6 tickets for $10! Encore Performing Arts, Inc. of New Bedford, Massachusetts, in hopes to support music and performing arts education, is putting together a national raffle that corps members from any corps is able to help themselves raise funds for their tour fee. Winning prize is a weekend for two to attend DCI Allentown Eastern Classic Regional Championships the weekend of August 5th and 6th! Winners will have round trip air fare from the closest airport to where they live to the Lehigh Valley International Airport, 2 nights stay at the Comfort Suites in Allentown, tickets to attend both the Friday and Saturday competition at Birney Stadium and 2 passes to the Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. Tickets will start to be sold on June 1st and the drawing will take place on July 3rd, the night of the Bristol Fourth of July Celebration Drum Corps Competition in Bristol, Rhode Island. Raffle rules will be based on Massachusetts law. Raffle tickets will cost $2 a piece or 6 for $10. Of this, corps members will receive $0.70 for every dollar donated to their organization in their name. Donations will be made on June 15th, June 30th and July 15th to the chosen organization. A new brass ensemble has been formed in southeastern Massachusetts that will compete as an ensemble in DCA weekend featuring an opener of Manteca and closing with drum corps famed, Birdland. The organization will grow from there, where the ensemble, mini-corps, will travel to Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal next summer to perform for dignitaries and throughout several of the volcanic islands expanding the knowledge and interest in drum and bugle corps. The trip is covered by the organization. From there, we will grown in time and tradition. Any one interested in participating or in more information can contact myself at antoniocamara1983@yahoo.com or here on the planet! Rehearsals will only be held on weekends, so if you can not march a world class corps or open class corps this summer, you can always participate in our unit. POSITIONS ARE OPEN NOW, GET INVOLVED! A new competitive brass ensemble is currently being assembled in southeastern Massachusetts. The group will prepare to comepte in DCA this upcoming Labor Day weekend and grow from there. A great opening competitive repretroire has been planned including Sammy Naesteco's Manteco and then Birdland. In the following year, the ensemble will travel to Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and become known as the first corps to perform in Portugal while performing for dignitaries.
