It's not too much to ask. Just don't try to understand the theme and enjoy the quality of the performance. Is that too much to ask?

Would "troll" be a better word, then? How about "hall monitor"?

Which shows in 2011 are hard to understand? This sounds more like an intellectual (or personal) argument than a practical one. More so, even if you don't get the shows, you don't have to know what it is about to enjoy it. It's just one level out of many levels of enjoyment to understand the show concept. You could just enjoy the wonderful performance level, which I think many fans do, and walk away happy!!!!!! I don't think many fans walk away frustrated about not understanding the show. If they do, go buy a program. It's 5 dollars, and it's about 100 words of explanation. If that's too much, you didn't really deserve to understand the shows in the first place.

You know that the "G" in "GE" does not refer to the audience, right? It's the overall impact of the show. The crowd is not necessarily too dumb to get it, just less educated. That's fine. Again, why should you, as a fan, care about the placements? Just enjoy the shows!!!!!!!!

I'm personally glad that judges choices are not lining up with the fan choices. Why on earth should they? Why can'y people just have their favorite show and be happy with that? My favorite show this year is SCV, but I don't think it should be any higher than 7th.

And hillbillies liked to be called sons of the soil, but that doesn't make true. -
"Thundering Chorus of Boos" in Atlanta
badoo replied to EJD440's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I personally think it is silly to think that highly motivated, competitive people such as DCI members are not motivated by nay sayers and booers, or that these people are sooo professional that they participate outside the realm of emotional motivation. The most competitive people I know (myself included) LOVE it when people doubt them or criticize them in any way. Just more reason to prove just how wrong they are!!!!! I think BD fans are just highly competitive and have extremely high expectations, as they should. Are people off put by their methods of expressing this fire? Sure. But, as Herm Edwards says, "You play to win the game!!!!" -
I really don't know why you think the fans are not pleased right now with the shows. What are you basing this on? Maybe you aren't separating your feelings about the shows from the ubiquitous "fan".

best solo performed in 2011 top 12 corps
badoo replied to mondocane1970's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
To be fair, most of those soloists were not screaming above the brassline playing FFF. Some were, but not most. -
I saw MANY people in Atlanta who had that scowl on their face and never seemed to enjoy a second of the show because they seemed so offended by everything they saw. What are they getting out of going? Most people are just trying to have a good time, so just stay home if you're gonna be "that guy".

Well, he is certainly entitled to his opinion. And so are you.

As long as they have won DCI rings, they must know everything!!!!!
-
It most certainly cannot, but to each their own.

Spoken like a true percussionist Same thing absolutely does not apply to brass at all.
