  1. I don't know... I just detect something wrong in the picture for a latest Cincinnati Tradition practice. Can anyone identify it for me... it is just in the back of my head .... hummmmmm!
  2. Cincinnati Tradition will be in Centerville, Ohio on the 4th.
  3. Cincinnati Tradition will be in Centerville, Ohio on the 4th.
  4. Cincinnati Tradition had it's first drill camp this past Sunday. The corps was able to march and play the opener "Here's That Rainy Day" and the first half of "Artistry Suite" The corps is currently seeking 3 more spots to fill the line... 1 Baritone, 1 Soprano and 1 Guard. Please visit our website at http://cincinnatitradition.org for more information.
  5. The CIncinnati Tradition Drum and Bugle Corps has set the final numbers for the 2012 season. The drill is being written and formal drill instruction will begin on April 15th at Fairfield High School in Fairfield Ohio. So far, everything has gone exactly to plan for the winter. The corps will be fielding, once again in DCA class A with a greatly expanded membership. Currently, the drill calls for a few more members. 1 Soprano, 1 Bari, 1 Euphonium and 2 guard. At this late time of the season, interested parties will be asked to complete a brief audition. If you are interested, please visit the website ( http://cincinnatitradition.org )and fill out an information request, or contact me at coordinator@cincinnatitradition.org.
  6. Cincinnati Tradition is having it's best winter ever. The corps is still planning on going out in Division A this season and hopes to field 20 brass, 10 guard and 22 percussion. So far this winter, the corps has had 3 camps with the fourth one coming up tomorrow at Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburg Indiana (our winter home). So far, the brass line has finished playing through the first two numbers (Here's that Rainy Day and Artistry Suite) and will actually do a read of the third number (Send in the Clowns) tomorrow. Last camp, the percussion and brass were able to play through Rainy day, with the brass playing from memory. During the rest of the month of January and the first part of February, the corps will be refining the first three numbers. In the second camp in February, the corps plans to start on the final number (Malaga 2012) with the entire book performable by April 1st. Different this year, from other years, the corps will be preparing a few other numbers to play at standstills and non-competitive performances. Numbers are looking stable for all sections this year with the following needs: 3 sopranos, 1 mellophone, 1 contra and 1 baritone to fill out the brass section. The percussion section is fairly full and the guard could use 2 more dedicated members. This year, Tradition's show, "An Evening with Stan Kenton" is focusing on the full aspect of performance. When the corps takes to the field this year with all new uniforms and "spiffy" helmets, each member will completely understand their particular role in telling a story. The instruments or equipment will simply become an extension of the individual and the individual will become part of the integrated whole of the story. The goal of the corps is to become the best corps that the region has ever seen or heard. If you are still interested in participating, please feel free to stop out at our rehearsal or visit our website at (http://cincinnatitradition.org) to request information. Once you register on the site and are approved, you will have access to the music, warm-ups, and marching manual for the corps in our document archive. Currently the corps has members traveling from Lexington KY, Indianapolis IN, Louisville KY, Charleston WV, and the entire Greater Cincinnati Area. Please feel free to check us out and consider becoming part of the Tradition Family. For more information email me at : coordinator@cincinnatitradition.org
  7. The program is set to role. Recruiting figures this year are off the chart. Tradition will officially begin it's new winter season on November 20th at Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburgh, Indiana at 9:00 AM. The corps will be welcoming new members and interested parties to this open membership rehearsal. This year, the corps is taking a new direction in preparing for the competition season with a new look and sound. Most of last years staff are returning under the coordination of Dr. Larry Tinnerman from Indiana State University. THE PROGRAM features an Evening with Stan Kenton where the corps will be weaving a story of lovers intrigue starting on the rainy streets of Chicago, moving to a 1940's century jazz club with a love triangle finally ending in romantic Spain. The corps will be wearing a newly designed uniform with the guard dressed in colorful Dick Tracy inspired garb. A new focus on music with attitude will be shown as the corps spins it's story on the field. Anyone in the Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana region who would like to join us for what looks to be a fun and exciting season should visit our website at http://cincinnatitradition.org and fill out a membership application.
