  2. Dear Glassmen We are saddened to hear about your financial situation and the decision you have made to ultimately save the organization and to keep on providing the tradition of the Glassmen. We have been there and know the struggle you are about to embark on in rebuilding your infrastructure financially so as to continue to give experiences to your members. The Bushwackers have spots open as it is still early for us to finalize numbers. If you are local and are interested in continuing to march this season, please feel welcomed and reach out to us. We are rebuilding after our own financial struggle and have come out ready to field a fantastic drum corps this summer. We have set up a membership pop-up for anyone interested in being part of the change. Best of luck Glassmen BUSH

  4. Facebook just asked me how I am doing. I'll tell ya How I am doing....... As of this past Sunday, the hornline has learned and performed the first two productions CHAMPIONS and RESILIENT and the Music ensemble has "Ensembled" CHAMPIONS. These goals were set and met by the design and instructional team. Why is that worth talking about? This is different than previous years. We are well on our way to a fantastic season. What is missing? YOU!!! Through the last few years we have made it easy for people to turn their heads to us. In 2012 we set out to rectify all of the things that made it easy for people to not join The Bushwackers. We are proud to say that any reason people had to not join the corps has been dealt with. What we want to do is prove it to you. Come see for yourself what we have to offer. Best rehearsal facility in DCA An intense rehearsal experience filled with pursuit of excellence Education by driven credentialed teachers who have performed with some of the countries' top organizations We say again? What is missing? YOU!!! Skeptical? Come check it out!!! January 5th and 6th at the Princeton Day School For more questions inquire within. BUSH13:WE ARE
  5. The Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce our 2013 production entitled "WE ARE." This year's production will capture the ethos and essence of the corps' 30+ year existence. The show is broken up into 5 movements, each movement capturing a characteristic of Bush's unique identity. Movement 1 - WE ARE CHAMPIONS With our first ever win coming at Finals, the 6 time DCA Champion Bushwackers have always held that as the core of our identity. Paying tribute to paradigm shifting shows such as Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George as well as a nod towards earlier Bush selections La Suerte de Los Tontos and I'll Be There, this introduction, arranged by Dennis Argul, celebrates our championship history, particularly the 20th anniversary of the undefeated 1993 season. Movement 2 - WE ARE RESILIENT With every incarnation of a Drum Corps, there comes inherent challenges. We are proud that with every challenge and resolution comes a renewed spirit of resiliency. The Bushwackers have proven time and again that with every obstacle the organization has thrived to the best of its capabilities. Murray Gold's music for the long running cult TV Show, DR. WHO, will capture our resilient nature with I Am the Doctor. Movement 3 - WE ARE DEFIANT The melodic sequencing and reinterpretation of each phrase makes Some Nights (Intro) by FUN. The perfect vehicle to represent Bushwacker Defiance. Throughout our existence we have always made the decision to do things our way and to do so with a "No Holds Barred" attitude; with exuberance and moxy that has led to our successes and, sometimes, our failures. But whether we win or lose, we do so on our terms. Movement 4 - WE ARE INNOVATORS Bush Percussion has been a standard bearer of excellence in DCA. This year will be no different. When revisiting the successes of our Percussion section over the past 3 decades we recognized that it was always Out Of Box design leading to Out Of Box performances. We are excited to see how we can travel further from the box in this year's production. How many more Bass Drums can one man hold? How many more cymbals can one drum line have? How many more beats can one ensemble play? Movement 5 - WE ARE BELIEVERS When it's hard, when there is no tomorrow, and even when we are our own worst enemy, every Bushwacker wakes up and believes that the corps will succeed. Every Bushwacker rehearses with high expectations and wears the uniform with the idea of greatness present in their mind. Even in lean years the corps has believed that the future is bright. The lyrics to the Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight Tonight – "Believe, Believe in me," – like a Hindu Mantra will drive our program to a close with passion and a renewed sense that the future of this organization will be significant to all. The Bushwackers still have openings in all sections. If you are interested in becoming part of what "WE ARE" join us at our next rehearsal December 8-9 at the Princeton Day School: 650 Great Rd. Princeton, NJ. To get more information or register for rehearsal, please click here.

  23. This notice is being presented to Alumni and friends of the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps as to the current financial status of the drum corps. The Bushwackers administration wants to make sure that the correct facts are made available to the public as well as how people can help the drum corps. A creditor has filed a lawsuit and received a judgment against the corps and has levied against the bank account. We are in jeopardy of losing our equipment if we don't raise the balance of the debt of approximately $12,000 in the next 10-14 days. We cannot let the court seize the equipment and sell it off at auction prices. We desperately need your help to avoid this catastrophic event. If anyone out there can assist in helping us through this crisis, we would forever be thankful. Please find your way to making a donation of $50, $100, or if possible even more. If you can even make a $10 or $20 donation, you will be helping to proactively save a corps. These donations will go to paying off the debt directly. Donations can be made by sending a check made payable to the Bushwackers to the following address: Bushwackers, 61 Bertrand Dr., Princeton, NJ 08540. As an alternative, feel free to send your donation through PayPal. http://bushwackers.org/make-a-donation/ Since the corps is a not-for-profit entity in New Jersey, this donation is tax deductible. (Also, see if your employer has a matching funds program so you could double your donation). Please understand that the money is desperately needed and needed fast. On behalf of the entire Bushwackers organization, we thank you. Bob Gupta, President and Director John Hannigan, Chairman of the Board
