  1. The All Age Championship contenders ( Caballeros,Bucs,M Brass,Fusion,Cadets2) and others have shows that are DCI caliber quality. What this means is yes you need to be in reasonably good shape. That also goes for your abilities musically. If you have not played in a while, brass or drums,I suggest you begin to practice soon because these corps now attract very talented performers. If you have the chance, go and visit a rehearsal and get a feel for their programs and talk to the membership.I hope this helps and good luck.
  2. In the Hudson Valley alone, competing in various circuits such as the Garden State,DCE and others were the Envoys,Pacers,Vagabonds,Indians,Ellenville Guardsmen,Greenwoodlake Lakers. All of these corps were within one hour of each other. So very sad that NYS does not have a single jr competing drum corps. Then again where would you begin if one had the financial means. It seems if you are not DCI ready, where do you go to build a DC?Where would you compete and against who.
